My! My! My! expanded & more

The boutique, My! My! My! in the old French Kiss storefront next to the Vortex, has expanded into its empty neighbor, the old Shoe Bar. The latter's sign is still up.

This was mentioned under the restaurant thread, but Piola has been open a few weeks on the south face of the 1010 building. I had a chicken & brocolli pasta dish for lunch shortly after they opened, and found the food tasty, the service fast & pleasant.

The Midtown Blue headquarters moved a week or so ago from its corner location in the 999 Peachtree building, at Peachtree St. & Peachtree Pl. into an storefront in the Metropolis building, behind Taco Mac along Peachtree Pl.

Very glad to see that clothing boutique is doing well-that space always seemed a little cursed. Great to have them on the Mile.

Is something going into the former Midtown Blue Space?

I hope that restaurant in 999 activates that area a little more.

Midtown Festival of the Arts

Don't know if it's been posted yet but I'm very excited about this festival coming in September. They're closing down Peachtree Street from 5th to 10th Street!

That is such an awesome idea for Midtown to have its own neighborhood festival.

This looks very cool. It's about time there was a neighborhood arts festival on Peachtree. I'm probably overlooking it, but I couldn't figure out where on Peachtree this is going to take place from the web site. Anyone know?

^From 5th to 10th street. This is normally a pretty lively section anyway, with a decently high concentration of condos and restaurants.

Thanks -- that's a great area for it. One night last week when it was nice, warm weather I walked from where I live north of Colony Square all the way down Peachtree to the North Avenue MARTA station just to take in the street. Other than a few surface parking lots that are still hanging in there despite the development frenzy of the past decade, this section of Peachtree from 5th to 10th makes for a good urban walking experience. I saw a lot of people out and about headed to Vortex and other restaurants and stores.

Well, this is mainly about Lenox but it also says a man named Tom Ford and another one named Paul Smith are thinking about midtown. Who they are I don't know.

Lenox Square adding some big names while others expand

^ well, they have 4 Apple stores in the MSA.

I think you'll see a Midtown Whole Foods before a Midtown Apple.

^ That whole area is O4W.

And the sooner they put a road through from 10th st to the Sears bldg, the better.

Well, maybe they could run one alongside the Beltline if there is room. From what I am hearing the trains won't be running for a good many years and it would help with the cut-through-traffic.

I know you meant no harm by the post made by Andrea back in 2008, but I heard that she passed away last year, and she will be missed very much. But then Trainiac sends me a PM saying he spoke to our beloved Andrea last week....hmmmm, I wonder if we are talking about the same Andrea that lives across Wiueka Road from me and was a Moderator on the same forum I was a member of....hmmmmmmm

Well, back to Midtown.

I am a person that is really into water elements, because they are soothing, calming, and make a sound that drives out the sounds of the busy city such as traffic. I guess I'll miss that fountain, because I don't think Atlanta has enough fountains or water elements, but don't worry because I'll get over it.
