the awesome 1577 Main Street (by Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden) has passed the first evaluation by the UDP on Wednesday. It's the building that looks like a bridge. I like it but not the colours.
I drove through the area on First Ave. (from Quebec ST. to Maynard's (Wylie St.?)) last Wednesday (not sure when the street opened) and the RoW for the streetcar is pretty wide - it starts at Ontario in the east and continues all the way to the old Maynard's site.
However - the lanes for vehicles are pretty narrow (there is no curbside parking, or not much that I could see) - so much so that it doesn't seem wide enough for both cyclists and cars (esp. larger cars or trucks), plus the corner bulges seem to narrow the lanes even further. Mind you, while driving through I was stuck behind a couple of exceedingly slow looky-loo cyclists - one with a two foot wide baby carriage in back.

Cars were parking down Granville because they saw a Canada Post vehicle and a policeman do it, despite the fact it said "No Parking" everywhere, and the roads were blocked off except for one barricade that had been moved to allow the police in. Sigh. Parking is at a premium downtown, I guess

IIRC of the roughly 1200 units available, 450 have sold. They're scheduled to move in this month. Not sure on exact dates though one date that is interesting is May 15, the date that they launch the Avenues of the World set of show-homes. So that may be a date similar to purchaser move-in date.
James Living is expected to start construction July 1, completion expected August 1, 2012. Oh, and Pinnacle False Creek 1 is one floor below grade, moving fairly quick. Didn't have my camera with me yesterday though.
