how's that? i am not, nor have i EVER been a fan of the old CN tower, and i personally wish they would just implode it! one of the ugliest buildings i have ever seen!
CN Tower is alright. Maybe some re-facing(if that's the correct word)on the outside might make it look a little sexier but I like it.
And Airboy's picture looking towards Grant Mac. Seeing Quest there, some developer needs to buy more property there and put another condo or two on that strip. Man, would that look good!
I also like CN. I can't even say what it is I like about it. Maybe that it’s been part of the fabric of Edmonton's skyline for so many years. Yes it needs some loving but hey it’s over 40 years old. Hell I even remember going up it when it was new and the tallest building in Ed at the time.

CN really is a gem from the outside. Talking to leasing guys, though, they say the really frequent vertical mullions are a challenge. Think having an office with a bunch of narrow windows, as opposed to wider, more open-feeling windows.
The biggest shame is that the tower no longer connects to the rail network. The Calgary Tower still is connected, and has its wonderful retro station.

The only thing I don't agree with on CN is it's street interaction, but that's common to buildings from that era.
Same. The fact that it is set back half a block, adds to this problem dramatically.

For some reason there is still a long-running rumour in the city that it is abandoned and slated for demolition. It's almost a funny urban legend now.
Though it sort of speaks volumes to the lack of activity in the immediate vicinity if no one happens to notice hundreds of people moving in and out of it day-to-day.

same rumour i had heard so that's why i wondered if it was occupied or not. i'm never around downtown at rush hour so i don't see the mass exodus in the late afternoon. from what Airboy was saying, am i to take it then that the building isn't completely full?
I heard that up until AHS It Services moved into CN Tower, the tower was having problems attracting enough tenants to pay the bills and up keep on the building. I've heard that they have had to do some major retrofitting to bring in a higher paying tenant, and it will be very costly to retrofit this building... Similar to that green tower near the ledge
