2-2 now guys. like nothing ever happened... and we can pretend that this is true.

so now, home ice again, first game in the series, a win just like last time, then even if we lose the next one in LA, we have a home game to wrap-er up.

Oooooh maaaan that was brutal...for LA ofc. I loled at the fights. I wonder if the Kings can put themselves together after this.

The Rypien fight was a bigger statement fight than the O'Brien fight.

Rypien with a few quick punches told the Kings don't even think about it.

That Rypien fight was pointless. Besides that, where I come from we punch with out fists, not our elbow elbows. I wouldn't be surprised if those extra shots he got in after he threw Clune to the ice cost Rypien a couple games.

The O'brien fight was alright, but it could've used without the showboating at the end. That was just seriously unsportsmanlike.

..and I'm rooting for the Canucks to win the series.

Depends on the outcome of the other series.

Top seed plays bottom seed, middle seeds play each other.

Clune was yapping all game, riding Luongo (literally). Even the CBC commentators called it classless. He got what he deserved and the Kings look even worse as a result.

did you even watch the fight? there's a video of the whole fight on the canucks' site. no elbows were thrown, man.

Skip to about 0:12 seconds and again at 0:56 and watch! Now, I may have failed Biology in high school, that part of Rypien's anatomy connecting with Clune's head sure as hell look like an elbow to me.

If both SJ and Chicago wins their series. We will play Chicago and SJ will play either Phoenix/Detroit

If one of either SJ or Chicago looses and the other wins we end up playing either Phoenix/Detroit

If both SJ and Chicago looses we would then play Colorado.

There is no way we can play Nashville in the second round.

How did you do in physics?? It looks like a punch that grazed his face culminating in an elbow... hardly intentional or anything to even comment on really.

Also, with Nashville's collapse today looks like we will play chicago, barring any big comebacks.

I wouldn't call it pointless. Morally it was more defeating for the Kings.

This is how I break the two fights down. Kings are loosing badly and they know it. So Simmonds decides to fight O'brien. He looses but puts up a good fight. So now LA feels even worse. They can't win on the score board and they just lost a fight.

So the LA coach Murray decides to put his fighter out. Alain sees this and doesn't think twice and puts Rypien out. Now Alain could of kept him on the bench. But he knows a fight is going to happen. And he would rather is best fighter out there. This second fight because it happened so quickly and was completely lopsided. It morally put LA even further down than what they where before. There are a lot of mental games played on the ice and off the ice and this was big one.

Despite O'Brien's theatrics after the fight, there was no clear winner in the Simmonds/O'Brien fight. Just because you are the first one to be pushed/pulled to the ice does not make you the loser.
