I rode my bike to the end of the Leslie St. spit (Tommy Thompson park) today, which is something I've been meaning to do for years. The view at the edge is quite amazing, much less the giant piles of rubble that make up the shoreline. I never really cared for the oft-posted view of the skyline from Toronto Island, but from this much further out in the lake you get considerably more perspective.

And finally a shot of Mississauga in the background:

^ It does. Even though the changes are not very apparent, the city adds roughly 1 or 2 highrises every year in the CBD. Sure, we're not talking about the Bow or the Trump!

Montrealers, dont worry about Trump Toronto having an impact on the Toronto skyline, and as far as Im concerned Trump Toronto is the worlds tallest infill project.... Projects like Ritz, Shangrila, Aura will all do major damage to the Toronto skyline at two thirds the height.

Vancouver seems to be less represented these days on this thread, so here are a couple pics I took last weekend.

Downtown first:

And this is one showing the Burnaby / Vancouver boundary area along with the 2nd Narrows Bridge. In this photo you can see the Edmonds, Lougheed & Brentwood skylines of Burnaby and North Vancouver's skyline. You can not see Metrotown, for it is just to the right of the photo.

All pics are my own

Cheers!

Agreed, Trump is rising between the 2 tallest towers in the country. Sure, from some angles it will stand out, but from most views it will not be visbile at all, or only the top portions (like the very slim spire) will be partially visible.

Hum, Trump doesn't really matter that much...

Look at Bay-Adelaide. Because of its location, I'm sure this tower alone had nearly as much impact on Toronto's skyline as everything we've built since 1992 (combined) has had on Montreal's skyline.

I could say the same about Four Seasons next year, or Aura in 2 years.

Like le calmar said, downtown MTL regularly adds towers but the change is not very apparent from far away.
MTL's biggest recent skyline changes are CCE (2003-2004) and Hilton (2009), located at opposite corners of the CBD.

...Imagine if TO's tallest recent towers were X and Success Towers, among shorter infills.

(BTW congrats on your 10,000!)
