I also narrowed it down to those 3 and ended up going with 8.

I think it's going to be 8 for me, although if I had to describe it in one word it would be "bleak". It's a great capture. Number 7 is a wonderful image as well and I like the composition of 9 as well. A nice group of entries. A couple didn't quite give me dreary and the black and white didn't do it for me. Seemed too easy to make something duller by desaturating it.

Some great entries. I love #8, but voted for #9 - dreary weather wise and emotionally.

seven is like really eye cathing has great depth to itself i voted for that and it made me think of the blue lagoon on Iceland first because of all the fog.

but then you see these broken planks and pier and start wondering even more why that has been left to decay.

i also liked number 1 and 5 alot

I voted for #8. Such a depressing and dreary image.

Curious about the location, I looked it up on Google maps. Quite different on a sunny day.

I voted 7, but yes, 8 and 9 are also exceptional. Nice work!

7 and 8 were great, but I went with 2 - it was the most desolate, for me, and was the image that lodged in my brain the most.
