Nothing like a good SEATTLE WEATHER PANIC.

Have they got "storm chopper" in the air?

Is "Tom" standing at the bottom of the big hill waiting to film a car slide down the hill and crash into someone, so they can "warn people how icy it is!"

Oops, its not snow-season yet.
But is it really any different?

lol, is Seattle like Vancouver?
One snow flake reported in Renton, and the whole Seattle area shuts down?

Vancouver is brutal during the ice/snow season... One snow flake reported in let's say, Coquitlam, and out of nowhere 40 seperate car accidents will appear all over Metro Vancouver, at pretty much the same time.

That Queen Anne Hill though looks like a brutal stretch of road in Seattle, I whatched on Fox News a few years ago, a transit bus slide straight down and slam into a few cars. That must of been a scary sight.

In France, they call it "L'été Indien"

Here in Paris, the Indian Summer persists. Many trees are still totally green, and the afternoons are around 16° or 17°.

This is going to change next week as a chilly Northwesterly flow off the North Atlantic sweeps over the country, but what an extraordinarily mild fall it has been here; dry too.

They may be reporting the weather forecast that was in place last evening. The latest forecast from this morning predicts quite a bit less, only about 10 - 15 cm total with the precipitation more mixed on Tuesday (not all snow as they were predicting last evening).

Inland valleys and up the mountains will see more, of course. It's pretty right now though, and 10 - 15 cm is still a good amount for the city.

As with all winter forecasts, I'll believe it when it happens . . .

Yep, first snow of the season in Maple Ridge right now, currently about half a cm has fallen, very light (as they predicted for today)

it fell off and on most of the day

the streets out here are quite slippery only the bus routes are cleared

I was going over a small hill and i couldn't stop, i skidded and turned around and ended up in someones hedge facing the wrong way - luckily the hedge stopped me from hitting a sign and or going into a ditch or some cars

It was a little freaky and really fast i forgot what to do and by the time i remember i was sitting in someones yard against the hedge

i was able to reverse and continue on just a little shaky and freaked out - car seems okay

will be leaving it at home if it snows again though

Get some proper snow tires if you have to drive or else take transit.

i usually take transit when it snows

i just hit an ice patch and that was all that i could do

i forgot how to drive - i slammed on my brakes which is the wrong thing to do - i learned how to drive in northern bc and drove plenty in snow and ice and practised skidding and crap but totally forgot when it happenned today

it was a side street and they never cleared it or salted it

looks like i wasn't the only one to do it either - there was another set of tracks on the same part of that lawn that i hit and anotehr car couldn't make it up the hill

My power was out for a few hours because a tree fell on the power lines.

Bizarre.

there's been little/no wind in Chilliwack all day. Was in abbotsford this afternoon, where it was considerably windier, but nothing jaw-dropping
