A neighborhood meeting revealed that Aquarius and the Hard Rock tower are still planning on moving forward, just on hold until they can get funding.

Excellent news. Bet you can't wait for the staging and construction by your shop.

Any time tables given? I'm assuming no since they are trying to acquire funding. Just fishing here.

Streetcar Wires

For the record, the ugly tangle of wires over Market Street in the SF pic above is for electric buses. Streetcars run off a single wire, which don't look bad at all.

Wow. Best news I've heard in a while. The only other project I would've wanted to hear was a go more than Aquarius is probably 50AP, but I'll take what I can get.

Replete with robotic arm parking storage? Difficult to believe.

My shop closed down a couple years ago but I live in the neighborhood.

No word on a time table. I really hope they move forward with both of those. That will improve my neighborhood ten fold.

Sorry about that. The shop always seemed closed when I went by but looked to be fully operational. But I thought I remembered you mentioning that you kept crazy hours.
Anyway, I don't expect this to come flying out of the ground anytime soon, but, like adjelo, Aquarius and 50AP have topped my wishlist for years.
Perhaps a bad analogy, but I think the automated parking is much like a Rubic's Cube. I saw a cool video somehwere. Here maybe?

Well this is funny. While doing a search for the video of the parking garage for Aquarius, I came across this:
http://www.atlantacondoadvisor.com/aquarius/

What a cheap way to try to get potential customers to call you. Advertise that you have condos available at this luxurious condo in the heart of downtown that isn't even off the drawing board or funded anytime soon!

If I called for that, and then found out they weren't even built, I'd never do business again with her.

Re: the video, the old Aquarius website has been taken down the last time I checked. http://aquariustower.com/

Thank GOD!!! Not only was the building designed backwards, but it was backed up onto two other existing towers, and due to geography the building would have looked shorter than 1180. It was just a bad plan from the very beginning!

not to mention it faced the parking garage for the atlantic center office buildings. is was a great building for a not so suitable location. hopefully he comes back to atlanta in the upcoming years with a new proposal though.

At least it would have blocked it from view.

The Site for the Center for Civil and Human Rights is located on the greenspace adjacent to the World of Coca-Cola; one of the proposed sites for the College Hall of Fame is a parking lot.
