That is great news about the Vogue. I was worried that they would stop at the sign. I am glad to hear that they will be doing the awning and entire facade too.

My dream would be for them to restore the original neon on the awning (which looks great when it works), but replace the two backlighted marquee signs with modern eclectronic screens, which would give them so many more programable options visually.

With regards to the facade, I hope they choose an new, stylish colour scheme.

Hollywood north,

Not completely sure if they are adding a floor at V6A or just rejigging the units to fit more in, all I know is they've applied to add 12 units, so it can be either. But it has not yet been approved and is still pending.

Seems like Concord Pacific's project that was code named Colours has been renamed Panorama. Seems likely that's the name it'll be marketed under.

Last week I saw some guy scrubbing the ground level facade and I was hoping they'd be cleaning up the exterior more than that! Good news about the Vogue!

According to Facebook, they are already at capacity for the concert, but there are conflicting reports.

No thanks... this Deadmau5 show being free is likely to be full of 16y/o highschoolers acting like complete morons.

Deadmau5 yes, free LiveCity crowd NO.

The news was reporting the venue was full at 5:30pm.. for a show at 930. Is there really that much to do there?

I'm guessing they are allowing less people in since the barricade incident as well, but still.

capacity is only 8000

thats not really that large when you think of it

from what i have heard what inside its nothing exciting inside - thats why i personally wouldn't bother to line up unless i really wanted to see an act and there was only one that was of interest to me

the guy, brian williams, on CTV just said he has never experienced an olympics like this winter or summer - he said all the pavillions and things to do have long lines and its amazing and he has never seen that in his time with the games

it seems the freebie stuffis proving popular with everyone

this weekend will be nuts sunny skies all weekend will draw people out - i saw stuff on global today that i never even knew were going on - i really want to go check out the ozone now

according to last nights news the surrey venue reaches capacity every day and is hugely popular too

O-Zone and Holland Park seem to be doing well too... (I know they aren't downtown, but this discussion of Live City seemed like the best place to mention this).. 20k/day at O-Zone and 10-15k/day at Surrey so far:

Big crowds expected this weekend at suburban Olympics celebrations sites

That's very interesting re: recreation of the Dollarton shacks that Lowry and friends lived in. It's part of my family history.

Why would I rather live in them than the bland hotel? Character, surrounded by characters.
