cladding

Cladding has started to go up on Howe Street! Only one panel so far, so I don't want to get ahead of myself, but it looks excellent! Like OD said above, it's a blue/grey tint, with what looks like might be spandrels similar to West Pender. I have photos (it really did happen) that I will post tonight.

Others can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that spandrel glass is the opaque or frosted glass that is used to hide walls or floors from view. Also, is the glass usually referred to as cladding, or is glazing the more common term?

They were on wooden pallets - so I couldn't get a proper reflective angle to tell what they looked like - blue/gray - could be reflective or transparent - we'll have to wait to see when they go up.

Just waded home through the crowds on Granville. I've never seen anything like that in Vancouver. It makes fireworks look like a quiet little get together down at the beach.

Anyways, as promised, here are a bunch of my photos from the morning/afternoon of Feb 19. I don't really think the pics do it justice - I quite liked how it looked in person:

Thanks for posting.
That sucks about the flag - hopefully they'll patch it soon.

The Canadian "justice" system just found someone not guilty, after he admitted to murdering his 3 kids. So, probably not.

Doesn't look like the flag has been repaired yet. But the glazing continues:

Based on this render, the sloping recessed curtain wall won't have the opaque spandrel panels.
Not quite sure what the tabs are for (sun shades don't make sense in this canyon)
