Austin retirement community plans $100 million expansion

thanks for the pics austinskyscrapers, austin has changed so much in just 3 years. I remember when my brother and I used to be so excited over 360 condos, and now theres like 10 more different skyscrapers to be excited about. Props to all the people of the Austin SSP Forum!!!

Yea, Austin has changed so much in 3 years. Whenever I look at the first one, I feel kind of old already.

i noticed some blue lights on the outside of the Austonian crown (glass), it was three lights in total and all three were in the middle of the crown , but they wern't too bright you could hardly see them, lets just hope they change colors

Yeah, I saw some guys working on the North Side of the crown Friday night. I'm guessing they are working on whatever lighting is going to happen on the South/North facing parts of the crown.

I'm thinking we might gets the sides of the crown lit, the top part we have now, and maybe some strips between the floors in the crown.

Not much room for much else since those are all occupied floors and it isn't a decrotive crown like Frost.

The weather is nice today, so I took a short bike ride around the neighborhood trying out my "new" bike.

From my neighborhood.

The next four are from Garrison Park just south of Crockett High School. 360 shows up here, but I couldn't find it. The Austonian obviously sticks up, as does Frost, and even the W was poking up a bit. The cranes for it though seem to be around 550 feet.

My "new" bike. It looks like a piece of junk, but it's lightweight, around 25 pounds. It's a Jamis Explorer. I found it on Craigslist for free. Someone converted it to a single speed. I like it. It still needs a tune-up, but it's nice and quick.

As someone that plans on relocating to austin this year, I love all the pictures and can't wait to get there. for those of us that are not there, thanks to everyone taking pictures and keeping us abreast of what is happening.

Well, unfortunately there is just no daylight on that Seaholm development project except a few posts on that forum that talk about if the Stratus or Trammel Crow projects looked better.

The Austonian, on the other hand-I just don't know. I don't have a camera and their's no clue about what is happening there except for the finishing of the building itself...

I was just looking at the floor plate for the building. To give you an idea of how big it is, there are 26 hotel rooms per floor in this building (floors 6-15). The 16th floor is the top floor of hotel rooms and it has 18 rooms including 1 massive suite that is the size of 3 normal rooms. as well as 4 corner suites that are double sized.

Also for those curious the building will not have a 13th floor designated, it will go from 12 to 14.
