What point precisely are these protest jerks trying to make anyway? I think many of them do it just for the ego trip.

The only possibly valid protest I can think of would be that the money that went into the Olympics could have gone into social housing and such. Fine. But otherwise ...... WTF are they trying to do? Sell Vancouver as a tourist destination? Boy, that's the way to do it, all right. HA!!!!

The Bay, London Drugs, etc. all have security guards at almost every window.

Big police presence at The Fairmont, and shops down Georgia have guards out front.

I guess they succeeded in spurring economic activity, the security business is booming

Why do these f**king idiots get on the news every single time. That's exactly what they want, and the media happily obliges every time they open their mouths. The video of this was quite shocking, but I wish the police would actually of been ruthless in dealing with these very few idiots. It'd of looked bad and violent, but it would of stopped quick, not spread through like 5 blocks of downtown accomplishing nothing, until they were assaulted themselves. I couldn't understand it, these retards are breaking/vandalizing everything and the cops just try and push them along and see if they leave...
