Don't get me wrong.. I like it here just don't love it.. My Loyalty is and always will be to Winnipeg. I actually really like Vancouver as a place to live if I had a choice in Canada. San Fran area in the US.. but forget that. GO JETS GO !!!

Heard on the radio today that there is a rumor about a possible announcement that will be made next month about the Atlanta Thrashers moving to Winnipeg. And that the new Winnipeg team can play as soon as the start of the 2010 season... I wonder if this stems back to the post back in October by that Regina guy.......

Has anyone heard anything about this? Like I said this was just mentioned today. I heard it on 92citi...

i spent the last 4 days on a bruins run....2 games in boston, 1 in montreal.....all i have to say is we NEED a team back....the calibre of play is a mile ahead of the AHL.

the arena in boston is crap compared to the MTS centre...except for it being larger, it is a dump on the outside, the concourses are unfinished, there are even larger washroom lineups than here and the seats are just as narrow....

i wore my jets jersey to each game and got stopped every 15 feet by someone who said they want winnipeg in the league again...it was amazing.

we sat in the 19th row lower bowl and the face value was only $67.

of course it was double that in montreal.

the interesting thing is that eventhough there are almost 3000 more seats in boston's arena, it only translates into 5 more rows than the MTS centre....

Agreed Truviking. Despite the many, many flaws in our city, I truly believe we are turning the corner out of "small town for small minds" and finally entering a "big city" flavor. Look at what is happening; rapid transit, Centreport Canada, Winnipeg International Airport's new terminal, IKEA, etc. If we can get an NHL team back, this will be a BIG moral boost for this self-depreciating city. Not only do we need this, we DESERVE this!

I didn't realize TD sponsored the Boston arena. And RBC Centre or whatever it is in Raleigh. Time to step up in Winnipeg Big 5 banks.

While were on the subject of hockey, took in a Moose game on Saturday, pretty boring hockey, entertainment value nil, with only 8800 in the building, lineups for the washrooms were ridiculous, the concourses were literally jammed, don't see how the MTS centre will work with 15,000 in the building.

I'm sure that additional venues, including washrooms and food & beverage outlets can be added if needed.

ive been to hockey games at MTS with the barn full.....it works no differently than anywhere else.....the added people have their own washrooms and concourses to walk in......the concourses at the bell centre and boston garden were far more shoulder to shoulder than anything ive ever seen at MTS ...and the lineups just as long for washrooms.

that sports bar looks awesome...we need some good sports bars in this city.....i didnt know blush died.

Took in a couple of Flames games in Calgary last spring where close to 20,000 were in the building and the washroom lineups and concourses were not nearly as bad as the MTS Centre.
