^Language, dude, language.

Man, I wish I'd gotten invited to The Austonian party. I didn't even want the tiny tequila bottles. The views would have been enough. I had actually emailed them asking if they were going to do something like that and said I could take photos for them. Oh well.

I am really not liking the lack of news recently. Hopefully there will be something interesting soon.

The W... how many more floors?

Just wondering if anyone is keeping count. Is the W about to top out?

Two more floors after the one they are on. If you look at the rendering, the floor plate shifts at the top three floors. I believe that is where they are now.

Wow. I always love seeing these then-and-now comparisons. So much change so quickly. I hope we can look back to that picture from last week in 20ish years and be just as amazed. We'll see how that works out though...

I think they're working on the roof now. They have the three 14' floors done. The vertical supports they're working on now are 20' tall which is the final floor height. The 20' ceilings seem insanely high (in a good way). I believe the building is 38 stories tall; this is different than what is reported at the first page of this thread.

No, the lighting is not complete.

Streetscape work is scheduled to begin this month, and in March, workers will finish lighting the glass crown. One of the three sections already has been illuminated.

Well, I guess this explains why the Chase sign is missing from 700 Lacaca (15-story office tower).

County moves to buy downtown office building

Travis County today moved closer to buying 700 Lavaca St., a downtown 15-story office building and adjacent 675-vehicle parking garage. Officials see the $63 million deal as an answer to the county’s space and parking crisis downtown.

I agree; I spoke to one of the main contractors last week and he said they were planning to top out in the first week of February. He said the top piece will be the top of the elevator mechanical housing.

He also said the only outside lighting on the building will be a "small" W, on the southside of the building.
