Just had a good chuckle by going to the Vancouver2010 website and the headline is "An Exciting Lineup of Top Canadian Acts" with a picture of Hedley.
I don't know if it's more funny or sad that they probably are tops in Canadian music. Their concert in Calgary next year is in a tiny little arena, where every ticket is $40. And it won't sellout.
EDIT: Consider using the non-official buses that some members on here have talked about, http://www.ridebooker.com/

The tickets I'm trying to get are for the events on Cypress. Those tickets just went on sale this morning at 11. I don't think non-official buses are going to be servicing Cypress
I agree about the lame Canadian acts. I wouldn't seen any of them if I was given tickets. Seems like they consulted the Juno people when they were compiling a list of artists to call.
Some acts that I think would have been more appropriate:
- Tragically Hip (I don't like them but they can draw in half decent crowds still)
- k-os (Hip-hop with a positive message... plus it shows that we have a more diverse music scene)
- Feist (I know she's playing other venues but she appeals to a large audience)
- Arcade Fire (indie darlings)
- Michael Buble (is he going to make any appearances at the Olympics?)
- Sarah McLachlan
- Neil Young
- Nickelback (I can't stand them but I think internationally they aren't as hated... plus they booked theory of a deadman which is basically just a Nickelback clone)
