Nice!
- looks like the "in" design now - there's a similar one in Calgary (Hotel Germain) and in Toronto on the waterfront.

Only comment is that the orientation means that the passage under the straddling block may not be as visible from Main Street or Quebec Street as it would be if it were turned 90 degrees. There are two new streets north and south of the project between Main and Quebec though, so it will be visible.

That is an interesting proposal. How many units? And will the space underneath the upper structure be public space or for residents only? As well, will it be all natural light, or will there be artificial lighting for in the evening? If artificial lighting, anything special about it?

Here's what's going up on the BK site - Q1.
Looks like theres another parcel between the two projects, not sure if there are any applications for that parcel.
Looking north on Main St. you might be able to see the gap - the Q1 block fronting Main St. is only 8 storeys with some townhouses to the west.

It seems to me that when I go by the BK site, the pre-sale sign for those condos disappears and re-appears like a bell-weather for the economy.

So is the whole of the SEFC area not going to exceed building heights of 14 floors? Or as they step back from the Creek side will building heights begin to increase again?

I haven't seen a Q1 sign on site for a while..

From what I understand, the towers are supposed to step up to the CityGate towers from SEFC heights.

Reasonably good sign that Pinnacle is selling its first tower in SEFC -

Hadn't looked at the website before - I had assumed it was over by Ontario St.
(they have a couple of big parcels there - but no, it's over by Crowe (near Foundry)).

ya the signs have been fown for a long time now.

so i take it this is the "Chopstick" proposal?

I like it a lot

Excavation is under way on Pinnacle's building at 1887 Crowe St and 2nd, across the alley from Foundry.

Also, the Walter Francl-designed neighbourhood energy utility building is looking great. Wood sofits (sic?) are going up and there are three large windows that will give passersby a glimpse into the mechanical heart of the NEU.

Nice to see Southeast False Creek take top honours at "The Brownies":
