SpongeG Ugg boots are still in they have been for a while and they are probably no longer a trend as in the winter they are a necessity and actual a great way to stay stylish and warm. If they weren't in they wouldn't be everywhere.

Vancouver has fashion, it's own unique fashion as most cities do. It may not haute couture but why would it be unless you're going to some fancy gala or the Opera. I went to the Opera last year and let me tell Vancouverites can dress it up when needed. We don't wear joggers and tees all the time lol.

Every city has it's fashion victims. Vancouver by no means is a crazy city when it comes to fashion but that is typical of the west coast, even in LA with Celebrity infestation it's still primarily tees and board shorts kinda culture.

ugg boots were once trendy that trend died - now they are a staple i agree but whatever lets move on - its just a joke between and some friends

but in general i still think vancouver isn't as fashionable as most places - it has its own look and vibe, like seattle does, i have always found edmonton and toronto to be much more hip and fashionable than vancouver ever has been

Toronto yes, Edmonton hell no! When is the last time you've been I came back a few weeks ago and boy It is not a city know for fashion sense whatsoever.

I see running shoes worn with jeans everywhere, but that doesn't mean they look good. I'm with SpongeG on this.

^ running shoes or I guess Chucks are popular with jeans and a blazer, that is or atleast was the trend. It may not be what you do but even look at GQ or other mags and a nice clean running shoe with a blazer or even a suit is acceptable if done right. It may not be your cup of tea tho.

I'm curious as to what you guys see as stylish, not be sarcastic or anything just really curious

I guess if you follow like fashionistas and vogue magazine etc you can see the lack of trends here - when you go to europe or asia you really see much more trendy people everywhere

I've seen the occasional EGL around downtown but i think that trend has to have been dead in japan for a few years now

People in Japan spend every last dollar on fashion, and live in a space meant for one... with about six people. And then, if they happen to be moderately pretty, they go on "dates" with wealthy businessmen. There was a big thing about this in the press awhile back, with 15 year old girls and up. Think of that the next time you see a young girl with a Louis Vuitton purse or Rolex watch. The former, is just about every female in Japan...

Actually, it's not just girls. One of my friends' 17 year old brother works at a "cafe" and can make several hundred thousand JPY per day. Lots of lonely rich housewives.

Supposedly the top guy at the club earns over 1 million JPY per day.

Now, that's a retail trend we need in Vancouver!

And on that note, Asian fashion wise, Greater Vancouver ain't bad compared to the rest of North America. Very surprised they haven't opened a uniqlo over here too.

It's not technically prostitution, that's why they're allowed to run the businesses. Same as Pachinko, it's not REALLY 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵... I forget the spin they put on it. As for UNIQLO, they are expanding through Asia quite rapidly, and are in talks to purchase The Gap (or have already). They have one store in the USA, 13 in the UK, and 2 in France (to go with over 700 in Japan!). I'd imagine conquering Canada will be their next step.

Hopefully they bring over the delightful Engrish t-shirts, too.

That's why I'm surprised they haven't hit Canada yet since it looks like they are expanding quite rapidly. I'm sure the Asian population here would appreciate one, since anything Japanese is gobbled up over here, just look at bear papas =P I mean come on, UK before Canada? Maybe they should open some mos-burgers here too =)

Give me Freshness Burger or give me nothing! MOS's signature burger is just a Freshness Burger ripoff, after-all

Notice how it comes fresh. Put together so you can eat it without being all over the place. The lettuce is GREEN and crisp, the tomato juicy and tomato colored.


Yes, Japanese McDonald's comes all nice and clean, too. But FB is so much better!

I just don't know if Canadians would be up for paying the price, $30 or so for two people. But it's finer dining than any burger I've had in North America.

Wow those burgers look so good. I never heard of this chain of restaurants. Hope they come to vancouver!

It kind of reminds me of M:Brgr in Montreal. The burgers there are probably one of the best I have tried. It is quite expensive because you pay everything seperatly like each topping, the cut of meat you want, even the bread. You can choose what type of mushrooms or even white or black truffle inside. A meal usually goes for about 50- 75 bucks a person with a dessert.

I wish they would bring it here! The video on the website with all the different ways to build your burger gives you an idea of how it is.

^^; Well, Freshness Burger is fast food restaurant (technically, though you may wait about 10 minutes as it is cooked... Fresh, even the french fries.)

Nothing fancy like the M Brgr. The idea of paying $30 for fast food doesn't go over well with most.

However, it is definitely worth it.

Haha I wouldnt mind paying a price like that for a GOOD burger. Good burgers are hard to come by these days. Other then M:brgr which is pretty expensive, i have had really amazing burgers for super cheap like at In & Out Burger in L.A. The burgers are like 1.50 and they are to die for. The line ups are insane too. Also Johnny Rockets makes a pretty mean burger aswell. They kind of look like the burgers in that picture.

This is making me hungry!

I don't mean sneakers - I mean running shoes that are intended for long distance running (New Balance or whatever; the Jerry Seinfeld look).

Hm. Hard to sum up, but I usually agree with Vice DOs and DON'Ts when they're not joking around (for not-very-serious clothes) and the Sartorialist for a more preppy look.

But we DO have that. It's just not publicized and marketed. If I had a dime for every girl I met who earns a monthly salary from her sugar daddy.
