Northeast elevations

Thanks for the update... cant really imagine who would be upset at a 7 storey building on a lot that skinny, but on this forum who knows? The only concern I have with this little guy is what they will be doing to the exposed north facade... I couldnt really understand what was going on in the elevation so hopefully some decent reders show up some time soon.

I've always wondered why the Victoria Block has sat empty and undeveloped for so many years. Anybody know what is planned for this site and/or building?

Wasn't me that posted it.
I recall a render of that Granville project on an architect's website - I suspect that it's on the GBL website - but their website is so hard to navigate that I won't even bother trying to find it.

February typically has much less rain than November and more hours of sunshine. I expect there will be some gloomy days and some comfortable ones, and that there will be lots of people at the Live Sites every day.

Yikes - that may be the most useless website I've ever seen. Is the one of those floating shapes a site map by any chance? That would help a little...

It's just brutal! The floating shapes are hyperlinks but what's what is a complete vacuum to me.

I think the St. Paul's site will be a parking lot. Strathcona residents were complaining that they weren't consulted.

it will be the "screening" site for vehicles entering the "safe zones".

take a delivery truck from a food company going to GM Place. the truck would go to the site and then get screened and then sealed up with some sort of special tape and then allowed to proceed to the checkpoints to get into the GM Place Zone.

I live in CITYGATE and there was no consultation at fucking ALL. all the sudden they start building shit at 7 am. no notices sent out .... NOTHING. I know what I know as I found out via the web and this forum. talk about shit poor piss poor planning at its finest. go 2010 ya ummm no.

The new renders seem to hint at a possible new condo with the most trees champion. The Bidwell proposal is going to council on Dec 1 and hopefully it goes thru. Another Henriquez masterpiece in my opinion, not only does it look terrific but it fits into it's neighbourhood both physically and socially.

Also the revised Vancouvers Turn tower is been pushed ahead and will be going to public hearing Dec 8th, which all happens to be the same day the Mark goes to hearing for it's extra height. Should be an interesting meeting.

You want to talk the ultimate middle finger? Let's talk Concord's 24/7 drunk tank they're building right now. The all-night delivery truck access point is situated right across the street from the Citygate towers. Concord must be earning zillions from leasing their site out so that a few thousand hockey fans can get sh!t-faced, and Citygate's supposed to see this as a plus for the neighbourhood HOW?

We all have inconsiderate neighbors. My neighbors are building a new house on their land. Most of the house has been up for a few months and nothing has happened. Then at 6:30am yesterday a giant cement truck shows up and blocks my driveway and starts pouring concrete in his driveway (which was a lake the other day because of the rain). I got no warning or friendly notice that I was going to have a cement truck, and operator yelling a string of profanities for some reason, right in my driveway. Be lucky you at least have some sound proofing and are more than 10 feet away from the noise.

agreed........yet Concord is bitching about wanting to build more Residential on the same land.............hey assholes. you have COMMERCIAL DENSITY left.....why don't you build that? you know contribute to the city working not just to your offshore pockets?

and ya how many millions are they going to make off Concord Place....and will it be turned into a park after? ohhhhhhh no they don't have the $$ for that till they start on the projects on the lands East of BC Place............ummm I call bullshit how many tens of million will they making off the 2010 games?

notice how they left the western part of the Concord Place lands full of junk and construction equipment for what..... 5 year? and now they clean it up.....only to make money renting it out....not to clear the shit view all us citygaters have to look at and complained about. people would ask me whats that over there a junk pile of some kind......ya a concord we don't give a shit pile

in my HONEST opinion Concord is the worst developer in the city and also gives the least about the city they are plundering. if you disagree go into the SPECTRUM and look at the quality

LOL this page totally confirmed what I heard from SSC/SSPers about Citygate's unique concentration of nimbies, but I do agree with you about Concord... they basically do whatever they can get away with and nothing more. If you think spectrum is bad, just look at the crimes they've done to Toronto's waterfront...

Certainly an interesting design, though once again I'm gonna do what I do and bitch about height. There is a 300 foot tower right next door. What is the rational for the 210 foot limit and 9normally) 2.2 FSR in this area?

It's a business not a charity.

The only people you can blame are those sitting around City Hall.

If those greedy folks accepted Concord's bid for the Olympic Village they wouldn't be in the financial mess they are now.
