Yep @ Bayview & Sheppar . That area is developing into something else ... a plastic pre-war skyline with a gigantic cruise ship permanently docked on one side. It's so bad that it's good.

Holy shnit! I mean the buildings aren't particularly esthetically pleasing but an impressive skyline nonetheless!

Mississauga is a good example of where density has really amounted to nothing remotely urbane from emerging.

Conclusion: TO's skyline (minus the Tower) isn't that recognizable, but it's big enough to the Chinese, which should be quite a compliment...
I should start taking pictures of all the NA skylines I see used in rendering ads along construction sites in Shanghai. I saw Edmonton's skyline used for the first time the other day.

They are making some big changes at Square one/MCC with some new urban square and of course, The Absolute Towers, and the New Cityplace Development (Amacon Mississauga) Is also now into sales. - Mississauga needs to be nuked, and rebuilt, but with all the skyscrapers going up and some rapid transit, the place should become at least a weebit less bleek.

What?? I cant think of a single US city outside Tampa and Phoenix with skylines as small as missisauga... and thats not even considering the fact that Mississauga's is all residential.

Absolute World 1 & 2, Amacon Mississauga, and Cityplace Mississauga are coming........

After which, Mississauga is easily battling for the 5th best skyline in the country with Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg or Quebec
City.

is the worth of a skyline to be found only in the amount and size of the towers? or is there something to be said for the aesthetic qualities of the actual line formed by the city against the sky?

prague has a better skyline than calgary.

quebec has a better skyline than mississauga (but not as good as prague).

depends on the perspective.
here's quebec again. my pic.

chateau 'front'n back' not visible, skyline from here not too big or impressive. -altho, compared to n.amer. most cities (large or small), very beautiful up close.

and while in quebec, i saw this cool sign. was along a rural road.
i think i know what it says... but i still didnt... understand -the graphic.

I think the Mississauga skyline is quite impressive for a suburb...certainly does beat at least some large US metros (Phoenix, Tampa, Orlando...). Burnaby is a pretty impressive suburban skyline too. And I would perhaps be more inclined to agree with the assessment of Prague (admittedly, not having been there) if it weren't for the smokestacks visible in the picture.
