Well I've had 6 or 7 tabs going for the last couple hours, and at least three going for over 4 hours, and I've yet to get in.

I guess I'll just go to Vancouver and get wasted at a pub, I don't need tickets to party.

I just got in a second time, not much left for the first week (which coincides with my reading week). Just some women's hockey not involving Canada and some curling I think - and some 1000 dollar opening ceremony tickets.

In any multi-level stadium I've ever been in, I would rather be on the upper level than in that section "tucked under" the upper level. And, in this case, those tucked under seats are considered A as well.

The reality is we, and everyone else I'm sure, is going to tape the ceremonies as well. So we'll watch them again at home later if we miss anything in the stadium or feel the need to see Celine or Sarah's face up-close

Wooo!!!!

Finally got in, got 4 tickets to two games. Sweden-Germany, and Czech Republic and Slovakia (I expect the atmosphere to be great for this one).

Oh, I meant record on cable. I don't want VANOC to hunt me down, though I imagine they'll allow cameras.

I wonder how people from those Countries can buy tickets? These online things have been Canada only.

My friend was in Riga when Canada played Latvia at the last WHC, he said the Latvians are absolutely insane. I've heard that before, but I guess it's true, they are the Rider fans of international hockey.

I got the same message. Not paying more than $175, I got tickets to the closing ceremonies instead. Its not quite the same but it should be good. I also got victory celebrations on the 15th. I looked at getting speed skating but tickets started at $95 for the days I was available. I will get to see a lot of events for free on Cypress since I am working with photo services.

I look forward to watching the opening ceremonies outside BC Place

Does anyone know what the deal is with the 'musical performers' at Victory Ceremonies? Are they going to be international touring acts or just local no-names? I want to go to at least one Victory Ceremony but don't know how to decide when they haven't announced any details about the post-medal-presentation show. I'm assuming there won't be any big name acts (on top of the nightly music at LiveCity) since tickets have already been released.

Really? When they said that each night is sponsored by a province/territory, I just assumed it would be 'famous' acts from each province. Somehow, they have not released the schedule yet until way after the ticket sales phases....totally sketchy, are they trying to hide something (like there not being any major acts?)

So I hope. They say "reknowned" artists so that should hopefully rule out most lame Canadian bands.

I only have tickets to one ceremony, the final victory ceremony on the 26th, so it better be a good one. I'm way up in 413

They have $20-million to spend on the Victory Ceremonies, that's quite a bit.

Victory Ceremonies at previous Games have always included both famous national artists and famous international artists.

Look out for:

Bon Jovi
Kelly Clarkson
Avril
BNL
Shania
Nickelback
Incubus

And possibly Celine.

However, the Victory Ceremonies at Whistler will have much smaller acts.

It'd be cool to see Bon Jovi, but I doubt it. He'll be in the midst of a big tour come Feb. 2010.

THOUGH, February 19th he is in Seattle, and doesn't perform again until the 22nd. And, Vancouver is the only major Canadian city that he has left out of his announced tour.

Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary.... no Vancouver

I wouldn't object to seeing Celine, it seems likely now that she announced she's not actually pregnant...

Yikes, well I guess I'll hold off on buying tickets to a Victory Ceremony until they announce the musical acts, I'd hate to find out Nickelback is performing after my ceremony. But boy will tickets ever sell quickly after the acts are announced, at only 22$ a seat. Here's to hoping the Hip come back to Vancouver, they did play the SLC 02 Winter Olympics after all

I don't know how 'being in the midst of big tour' puts you in doubt, it makes it look like a definite to me. According to his website, he's beginning his tour in Seattle on the 19th, and it doesn't look like he's playing many shows two nights in a row, so I'm going to predict Bon Jovi on Feb 17th, but the 16th, 18th and 20th could also be possibilities I'm sure.

Well shit, it looks like they've already sold out about half the Victory Ceremonies. I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy a ticket without knowing what I'll get. I'm willing to bet there'll be lots of trades on craigslist though once the acts are announced.

I've been curious. I don't know if anyone else noticed but Saturday, Feb 20, was listed as a "No Medals / Concert Only" night. It may be the only night like that in the whole line-up.

We decided to snag a couple of tickets for it, thinking that if there are no medals awarded, they'll want to make sure it's a good act to attract an audience. And it is a Saturday evening.

Who knows, but it stood out when we noticed it this past weekend.
