Here's the update. It wasn't really the answer I was looking for though. I guess I'll have to keep pressing to find the answer. I need to get in touch with the developers/architect to see what they say.

Kevin:

The best answer I could get from the business desk editor was that we had consulted with the developers and they gave us that two-part measurement for 360 Condominiums that you saw us print.

We still sourced Skyscraperpage.com for the other buildings because it corroborated what the other developers had stated. Our business editor also is a fan of your site and we hope to continue using your sites as a sources.

Thanks for checking in with us and I hope we can stay in touch to share information.

This building is turning out great. Better than expected, and I had high expectations. Looking at this angle, I can see similarities, albeit subtle, to LA's Gas Company Tower from the same angle. That's a big compliment coming from me, who is a big fan of Gas Company Tower.

Good observation. I noticed the similarities between the two buildings as well.

It does remind me of it. Besides the top with the curves and slopes, the contrasting glass and I guess metal? reminds me of it. It also sort of reminds me of the Capella Tower (First Bank Place) in Minneapolis. I'm thinking the biggest thing I like about the building is the contrasting colors of the facade. It's really striking. And yeah, I've always been a big fan of the Gas Company Tower for the same reasons.

^Technically, not in my neighborhood. That was actually taken from the 3rd floor stairwell of an apartment complex in South Austin. It's located on Deatonhill Street which is off of William Cannon. It's a block north of Westgate Boulevard. Very good views from up there.

If the city is called Austin, shouldn't the building be called the Austinian rather than the Austonian? The Austonian would only make sense if the city were named Auston.

I guess, but people from Austin have called themselves Austonians since forever so...

Actually we have always been called (both officially and unofficially) Austinites.

Austonian is a totally made up name by the developer. It has never been used by Austinites to describe themselves AFAIK.
