Yes. Yes, yes, yes. A wee bit more open-mindedness on both sides of every issue wouldn't hurt the civic dialogue either. Especially when they're issues that don't have a whole hell of a lot to do with say, skyscrapers, which is what lured a lot of us to this forum to begin with. I've considered jumping ship several times, but instead I choose to not participate in "discussions." I just want to know what's happening as far as development in the city, not necessarily wreak my holy (or unholy, sorry) judgment on everyone.

There is a new co-owned/operated grocery store to be built in downtown, sugarhouse, or somewhere close in-town. It is the first of its kind in Salt Lake City. The grocery store will be owned by the local community and will have organic and locally grown produce.

I can't believe i've never noticed that before! There are so many Salt Lake locations in that movie. It was recently brought to my attention that I live directly across the street from their apartment building "in Providence."

/\I think part of that is that Viperlord came out to play and dug up info for us like the State Street property.

But, I've been thinking that is has been very slow the last month or two.

I'm very disappointed that this won't be a Super Target, though.

Their website says it'll probably take 2 years before they actually open their co-op grocery store.

Do they even build new SuperTarget stores anymore? Its been years since I've seen one and it seems like a concept that they may be letting die.

I've yet to figure out posting pictures on here, but the building is next to the site of the would-be Lexie tower. It is currently under compete renovation. It's on 3rd East and at (roughly) 230 South.

Sorry, they just closed it down. I used to work in the building on the southeast corner of 200 S and State and we would go there all the time for lunch.

The layout of this seems odd to me. I think I will just have to wait and see what its like once its under construction. I think this area is losing a great opportunity for a walkable transit oriented neighborhood near the Trax stop. But, there is also a need for the box stores which come with large parking lots. All of us aren't ready to divorce our cars and ride public transit so the parking lots are still necessary and the cost for parking garages isn't viable. But it would be better if there were more stores along 300 West. As this area continues to develop it should all make sense. Overall, this could have been done better but the proximity to downtown is perfect.

Just browsed through the commercial realestate section for available properties in Downtown SLC.

The site has the Zims building listed as "under contract"
