Woah.
If I was walking downtown at night and came face to face with one of those red guys, I would crap my pants.

Looking at their poses, I'd say THEY are the ones crapping their pants.

Is it just me, or is the Shang-ri La barely noticeable at night?

It's not just you. While walking down Robson the other night I had to do a second take to locate it in the night sky.

The city once again failed by not ensuring that Vancouver's tallest building was outfitted with a dramatic lighting scheme.

Agreed. But that's not something that can't be fixed relatively easily.

I like that last pic . . . too bad there wasn't a place for the little back-hoe looking device in the lower corner.

Still, it's in a better location than the crane for the Christmas tree last December. The Christmas Tree photo posted here earlier matches a few I have a few of my own. A photo showing this beautifully resplendent Christmas tree with a crane sitting oh-so-tantalizing-close to being out of the way to the side. The crane stayed there the entire Holiday season.

Is there not a facility to store these pieces of equipment? The crane has to be sitting somewhere during the other 11 months of the year . I know that backhoe has been sitting there for over a month, though perhaps it is still being used on occasion.

I hope they don't leave the work equipment sitting out during the Olympic events .
