Houston. Texas has some of the worst drivers, there's another video with bus and car accidents, a majority of them due to drivers running red lights, turning in front a bus, etc. All from Texas. That's the extreme really. I'd expect Phoenix to be on the fringe of the border of bad drivers.

Wow, just read the article about Houston's METRORail.

62 crashes within the first year of operation, and that's only along a 12KM track!

Houston drivers though, not surprised.

In the first video with the LRT crashes all of the accidents were caused by bad drivers, but the second video about half the crashes were caused by bus drivers seemingly asleep at the switch.

The idea of revisiting LRT for the Evergreen line is ill-conceived. Don't waste tax payers money on something on that crap. If its worth building its worth building properly. Since it's going to integrate with Skytrain it needs to be Skytrain, otherwise pave some bus only lanes and run B-line.

Not too much to worry about. It's not your idea, not my idea, not Pro-Skytrain group's idea and not the provincial government's idea. It is those mayors out there who just want something done so they can keep their promise for the citizens. It's that simple and there is no need to talk about the disadvantages and all the accidents happened to LRTs. We all know what we prefer.

what about VANCOUVER DRIVERS? can you imagine if LRT was the Canada Line choice.....Richmond and Downtown would be a war zone......

That is what i was thinking as well, Vancouver drivers are among the worst in North America.

Especially all the one-way streets we have...

It's a whole different story in Richmond. The opening of the new line did not improve the traffic on No.3. People who were transit users, continue to use the transit; those who never did, still doesn't use it.

richmond no.3 needs another layer of road on top of it, or below it. I suspect the government will be changed before this happens.

lrt eats up another lane, we need mult-layer system, road or train...

Is it not surfaced well and you are saying they need to add another layer of asphalt to make it flush or are you simply being sarcastic saying we need to build a viaduct or something?

And what does #3 road have to do with the Evergreen Line?

viaduct, they could've built sth like a two layer viaduct, train on top, car below.

if u want to just go through richmond quick, u can go on a viaduct...

So a pretty decent list, and yes, compared to those cities on average Vancouver drivers are terrible.

Vancouver drivers do not know how to merge (they often stop), they do not know how to do the zipper effect, they have no sense of slow lane vs. passing lane, often leave huge gaps between cars when waiting at a red light (causing traffic to back up far behind them than it should), drive to slow when the conditions are clear and to fast when they are bad (such as slush and snow), drive to fast in school zones and other residential zones and to slow on highways and freeways (actually there is a joke about Vancouver drivers, that they only know 2 speeds, 50km an hour and 60km an hour), and many (and i stress many) people in this city no longer use their signals!!!!!!!
