i've seen homeless peeing beside newspaper stands, but this one is new...what a creative woman

my friend has seen it twice now - once at a downtown mcdonalds a homeless dude dropped his pants and dumped - clearing the place out

and another time on pender near china town a woman stopped dropped her pants and did a #2

I am lucky enough to have not seen such a thing - but once at my old office someone took a #2 in our doorway - the doorway we had to use it was usually used for a #1 but the #2 was just gross

Hmm just got the newest translink listens survey and they are referring to the old MKIIs as Type R cars and the new ones as Type H ones...is this their official designation or what?

I think it's just a designation for the 2 different train types that's easier for a surveying that MK11 and MK11a or whatever it is.

Why they chose H and R, I don't know.

Here's the latest from TransLink CEO Tom Prendergast at Langley Township Council, courtesy of the Aldergrove Star. Agree or disagree with his comments, notably the desires to annex Abby into the TransLink system? Or is this the usual politiking to residents living on the fringes of Metro Vancouver?

He is in support of a pilot light rail project using the Interurban line, and would back grant applications for a group that wished to take that project on.

He said it is important that Abbotsford eventually become part of the TransLink system, but he acknowledged that it is unlikely to do so when neighbouring Langley has not received much in the way of transit service.

Abbotsford will one day be the largest city in the Lower Mainland, he said, noting that Surrey will surpass Vancouver in 30 years and eventually Abbotsford will surpass Surrey.

Prendergast also said TransLink needs to change its attitude towards park and ride lots, which can boost transit ridership. TransLink historically hasn’t supported such lots.

Yeah, some smarts finally floating around, i know many people who would transit more if park and rides were more common.

Anyways, the new WCE ticket machines are up and running at Maple Meadows station in Maple Ridge.

Here in Paris, except at one or two stations (where you have to pay to get in) there are NO such facilities, and, as a result (you guessed it) many of the major stations, even Opéra (right smack in the heart of downtown, near the Place Vendôme and the Ritz Hotel) . . . REEK of urine.

And this in THE MOST VISITED CITY IN THE WORLD! !

However, I have not encountered number 2 . . . yet.

"Metro Vancouver directors voted today (September 25) to push for the best-case TransLink funding scenario.

Burnaby councillor Sav Dhaliwal was the only politician who voted against Vancouver mayor and director Gregor Robertson's motion.

Now the board will send the message to TransLink's private board of directors and its mayors' council that it should implement $450 million in annual funding above current levels—the most generous of the three options presented in TransLink's 2010 10-Year Plan to address funding constraints at the regional transportation authority. "

We're going to all have front row seats on a pretty epic fight this fall between the Province and the Region. It should make the UFC look like a tea party. Politics, and taxes specifically, are the real blood sport.

Thank goodness the Canada Line, and presumably the rest of the transit system, are chugging along with record ridership. Thank goodness we have so many examples of transit oriented development complete and under construction. Thank goodness this decision is going to be made in at the start of an economic recovery mode instead of last year's freefall.

I firmly believe that the Fraser Valley District will become part of Metro Vancouver in the future. It would pointless and stupid for it not to.

walking down main street today - 3 double length trolley busses all #3's southbound went by - the first was standing room only the second was fill and the third was fairly empty

are busses like this all the time? is this why people complain there are no busses for a long time?

is it normal to run 3 busses? or are they so off schedule they caught up with each other?

it is normal for #20 artics trolley too. Usually afternoon from 3:10-5:50 are worst hours.

I am not sure if #3 and #20 route are linked together (through downtown) yet?
