Yeah, Keetley is also pretty shaky with puck handling in general. Might be early-season jitters but I think he needs a bit more experience.

Just got an email from the Flames - "See Fleury's Return to the Flames Tonight!".

Looks like Theo's a go, and they're milking it for all they can. Good on both of 'em.

It's being streamed on flames.nhl.com, but I'm not sure if there are IP address restrictions, so it might be a good time to give Hotspot Sheild a download.

EDIT: Just read on CP that it is restricted to Alberta (once again, hotspot sheild should take care of that,) but apprently islanders.nhl.com isn't region-restricted, so try that too. Good luck

What a goal by Fleury, What a hit by Phaneuf. That pre-season game felt like playoffs! best pre-season game ever. lol

I watched from the third to the end online. From what I saw, Theo played pretty damn good, though I heard he had a rough start. Also, from what I saw, the Isles were lucky to get four goals, I think I only saw 4 or 5 NYI shots through the last part of regulation and OT. I was a little worried when I first tuned in and saw that most of the Flames' big names were playing, and it was tied at 4. I didn't see Kipper play, but 3 goals on, I believe, 14 shots isn't so hot.

Theo was pretty slow out there, he never really got involved in the play. He did look good toward the end, but he still has a ways to go. His fake in the shootout was very reminiscent of the old Theo. I hope I get to see him again in the regular season, but if not, that was awesome! good on him, what he is trying to do would be extremely difficult.

Wow. Just wow. Anyone remember the movie Rudy?

The cheering started as soon as he stepped on the ice (last guy on, with a very theatrical delay before doing it), and the chanting started somewhere around the 2nd period. And just kept going. Remember Nagano? When everyone WANTED Crawford to put in Gretzky, or just about anyone, and instead he picked Shannahan, and we lost? Finally we saw a coach do what the FANS wanted, and it worked beautifully.

The asshats at the Saddledome who pick the 3 stars deserve to be tarred and feathered for not giving the 1st star to the GUY WHO SCORED THE GAME-WINNING GOAL AFTER NOT PLAYING FOR 6 YEARS.

Awesome, awesome experience though. Every last person in the building was standing and I've never seen the seats so full for the 3 star announcement in a regular season game, let alone pre-season. People almost booed Jokinen when he was announced 1st star. Like the guys on Fan960 said in pre-game, tonight was all about fun. Forget politics, finance, Phoenix, contracts, all the boring stuff. This was a 100% feel-good time, celebrating amazing things that can happen in a game. With the ultimate in happy endings, to boot.

(Honestly, I think half the men in the stands were fighting back tears, it was that emotional.)

tonight was easily one of the best games i've attended in YEARS! it was so fun watching him out there, even though you have to admit he was floating around for most of his 11 minutes and when he did have the puck, looked a little out of place

But storybook ending to his comeback game for sure! Boy what his family must have felt sitting in the stands watching him make his dream come true. All the power to him!

On a side note, I thought david shantz was fantastic in net! Great position, played a good basic game. Granted the goal he let in was a big whoops, I thought he earned a serious consideration for the back up job. I'd like to see him get some more time in the preseason =D

if the flames refine their game just a bit more, this is going to be one hell of a season!

Flames played their best all-round game of the pre-season so far beating FLA 5-2 Sunday night. The power play has been great! Next up is Vancouver who has yet to loose. Should be a good test.

I've watched 5 minutes of the Flames - Oilers game on the Flames website, the feed is from the Oilers and I have to say, the Oilers Commentators are the biggest homers I think I've ever heard. wow.

Cant be a bigger homer than Mark Stephen of QR77 on the Stamps...That guy is the absolute worst....

That's exactly what I've been thinking the whole time. The one guy's spent the entire game bitching about the amount of penalties the Oilers have taken. Did you see Regher's fight? He fell, but the announcer claimed he was levelled by a big left from the Oiler dude.

Dude2 - "Workman-like effort sure, but they were helped by 9 powerplays, only six of which were warranted. The Oilers on the other hand have not gotten any help from the officials."

No kidding about the penalties, give it a rest. I'm sure the Flames played a more disciplined game, hence the 3-9 advantage in power plays. God I hate the Oilers!

I looked pretty good tonight. He doesn't really stand out, which at this point in his comeback is a positive.
