This morning most all the support platforms were gone on the Austonian. Concrete pouring is done then, I suppose. Should see that tree any day!

Just curious... will the glass crown extend slightly above the top of the concrete penthouse floors? From the renderings I've seen, it is not much, if at all.

They hoisted the last piece of material into place today and had a ceremony. I'm not sure if there's a tree up there yet, but I believe it's topped out. They hoisted the beam with a huge American flag attached. It was a beautiful sight.

^I don't know. The listed the sources for the info along with their diagram. It said "developers" and SkyscraperPage.com.

I've emailed the writer of the article to ask where they got that height from and if they could put me in touch with them.

I have heard 567 and 581 feet for the building before, but as far as I know, the developers have always stuck with the 563 foot number.

Well, it would be a pretty meaningful difference IMO, because that would have meant we surpassed Ft Worth in tallest building back when 360 was completed.

I spotted the Austonian from two distant locations today. First, as you drive along Hamilton Pool Rd heading generally east, there's a place about 1/4 mile before you get to 71 where the top of the Austonian is visible. Then, just east of the intersection of Hamilton Pool Rd. and 71, there's another view. I travel that route a lot but today was the first time I noticed it. Before the rain started today, the visibility was extremely clear, which may be why I noticed the building.

Right. I wasn't discrediting the source by the way, just wondering if the 360 heights were from the developers, or if that source was for one of the other buildings.

This was the email response I got. He says he'll try and find out where the heights came from and let me know for sure. I'll follow up next week with another email to him to see how it's going. I'll let everyone here know of course.

This may be a dumb question, but one of the links says 60 stories, the other says 56. Which is it and if it's 60 why and when did they change the plans? What's on the last 4 floors?

Meagan, the 4 extra floors they're talking about are mechanical levels inside of the crown. These floors house electrical, plumbing, elevator motors and the heat/air conditioning equipment. These levels would be off limits to the general public, and even the residents in the building. They would only be accessible by the building's security and its maintenance crews. The building only has 56 floors that will ever be occupied by the residents.

Also, I'm wondering why they're saying 60 levels. The number we'd heard before was 59.
