10.5 Minutes is not that long. Considering that is the waiting time for a train now on either the the brighouse or yvr lines late at night.
I think if they were to send a train out to Yvr. And then have it sit there for just under the 10.5 minutes. So people can slowly load as they need be. Then when the time is up close the doors and pull out. As soon as it it gone the next one is pulling in right away into the yvr station and now sits for about 10.5 minutes. That way people can find a seat and just sit down instead of standing around and waiting for the train to come along and having to unload and load in 1 minute.
I'd also setup a system where the PA system gives out an automated message something like "Waterfront bound train will leave in 10 minutes" and the next message might be a minute later and say it will be 9 minutes. Or they could just let the display that is there now let people know when the train is leaving.
