i saw on the news last night that they installed a new piece of public art just outside the YVR station (as you are walking into the link building). It's a coast salish piece of a large owl flying over a tree. It's nice. Keeps with their theme and is a nice way of welcoming people.

Something embarrassing for YVR, but apparently, from what I heard from an Air Canada ground crew member, the lines for planes are painted incorrectly for Gate 43, part of the new C pier expansion project.

^oops....I read the SkyTalk and saw some really nice public art in C-Pier....loved the observation deck as well. Is the Tim Horton's on 3rd level of DTB going to move closer to the observation deck? where there is a new food court? I am guessing that it's going to provide sandwiches after because right now, you have to go down to the Tim Horton's on 2nd level of DTB.

I was there as well a couple days ago and I notice that quite a lot still needs to be built. Any idea what is going to go behind the large white walls heading out to the observation deck and food court?

I don't think they are going to move it.

Just a few more retail I believe, unless you are referring to the construction right by the LINK terminal.

I'm not too sure where the link terminal is. All I know is that there are large white boards/walls that look like there are things being built behind them.

helloooo, take the canada line downtown for an hour or two. or are you already past security? 5 hours is plenty of time to do something downtown.

I wonder if they will be giving out "inconvience" cash like they do in Japan. Scored $300 for a 1 hour delay in Fukuoka.

It depends on the airline. Air Canada gives you these food vouchers with maximum amounts on them.

Hmm. They have really good sandwiches here. I could probably eat a few hundred dollars worth.

And an open bar, they may have to drag me out by the time 5 hours is up.

It's always scary to get on a plane after a 5 hour delay due to "maintenance", especially when the flight is 10 hours

On another note, there are currently 3 JAL 747's here. My flight (broken plane!), flight at 3:15, and a flight that just arrived, that will connect to Mexico City.

I work in the Air Canada Wing of Domestic Terminal, literally across from the Int'l Terminal and I walk to often walk to Milestones on my break just to get their food.
