lol, were these two women asian? How old were they? It's hard to mess up a transfer that badly when there are so many warnings and indications for train directions both on the stations and trains.

The train was muggy?????

I am extremely happy at how much of a success this line is. It may only be day 3, but these are incredible indicators for the future.

the train felt really damp - or like riding the subway in toronto

when the doors opened at each station it was nice relief to have the cool breeze

The underground station is too cold, way too cold in a warm summer day especially when there is a train coming. Going into a train you'll feel the train is really really hot. I can't imagine what winter will be like.

Especially the ones in downtown. Holy cow, even without the wind of the trains, it's freezing. When the train comes in, that wind just makes it all colder.

Sea Island Centre Stn
This station will be primarily used by the Air Canada workers. According to the fare machines, I don't think travel between YVR-Airport to Templeton is free and will be free. Quite disappointing as I think it would've linked a lot of workers on Sea Island to YVR and could potentially replace the Air Canada shuttles but I guess that's not the case. Anyway, no one has posted photos of Sea Island Centre, understandably, since it doesn't get you to anywhere. But it's funny, the most beautiful stations on the Canada Line are in the middle of nowhere.

I love the lighting at the North Service Entrance/Exit. Yes, it's quite industrial, but it has a cool look to it.

don't remember if anyone posted these signs at airport
YVR signage still doesn't have Chinese translation for "Canada Line",
and also not obvious from the name "Canada Line" that is means train/metro service

Yes I have and the Canada Line won't be translated reason being there is no official name in Chiense and French.

Thanks for all the photos Deasine. You've been doing most of the heavy lifting on the opening week photography and it's appreciated.

I'm absolutely thrilled the line is off to such a successful start. The more I use it the more I like it. We got an absolutely first rate system. Seting aside the complaints and criticism of the platform lengths, which we have gone over and over these last few years, what we have in the Canada Line is a very competent rapid transit system. We have a subway now!

I love SkyTrain Classic but the Canada Line has set the new standard for the network. It is a fantastic first impression for the city and wholly meets expectations.

The amount of luggage I already see on the train is a very healthy sign that the airport leg of the line will get lots of use, and that's with an almost complete lack of signage in YVR. Just wait until the staff are trained up to direct people to SkyTrain and signage is in place throughout the terminals, not just in the Link bldg.

I think "加拿大綫" is what people commonly refer to the line in Chinese.

Speaking of Chinese translation, I spotted this sign in the parking lot passageway:

Spot any error?

I speak fluent Chinese, and I've never heard of a subway system being referred in that way. I think they translated "sky train" too literally.

Not sure if I entirely agree since I think YVR's done a great job with preparing for the Canada Line. The are areas within the Domestic Terminal Baggage claim areas that should have the Canada Line signs (it's not facing the baggage carousels, but on the opposite direction which is a little puzzling), but for the most part, there are prominent signs. Of course, it would be nice to have more signs around the elevator and exterior of YVR as they are quite small.

I hope YVR will update passengers if there is an issue with the Canada Line using the TV screens at LINK Terminal, warning passengers in advance if there is any problems and potentially advising passengers to use "other ground transportation options."

Interesting note though YVR uses Simplified Chinese characters, whereas the Casino uses Traditional Chinese characters

Bus Loop is translated as a circular bus line...

I guess either the person who translated that sign had never taken bus before, or they just use something like babel fish to translate it...

I would refer SkyTrain in cantonese as "hing teet." At first glance, I didn't see an issue but HAHA I noticed it after you mentioned it.

Funny, I don't actually have a problem with the bus loop translation. However, maybe they should have translated it as "Bus stop" which is easily understood.

Couldn't have agreed more....they could just translate it as subway or something...

don't think this is the right character: 綫....should be 線

They translated SkyTrain the same way that TransLink did it in their bus timetables...

Yes, and I believe there is a larger population that uses traditional Chinese character here (just look at all the store signs)...but what can we say, that's China's official language...
