I wonder if the varying patterns depicted in the windows is actually in the glass itself, or just people drawing the blinds to block out the sun?

I think it looks ok when all the blinds are uniform.

When people are allowed to put up their own window coverings, already bad looking buildings look putrid. Look at some of the apartments at Lees, and some you can see while on the 417, to the North of it.

At EM, we can put up our own curtains/blinds, but they need to have white facing outside.

It really angers me when buildings are all over the place with window coverings, though.

There's one building on the West edge of downtown, close to the Queensway that's probably the worst building in Ottawa. All the balconies have their own thing going on, bikes, junk, etc, and all different awful looking window coverings.

I'm sure it's a low-income apartment complex of some sort, but if I was heading up the company that managed it, I'd be taking at least some pride in my building by making it look good on the outside.

2 Cranes, Pumpcrete and a lineup of cement trucks there on a regular basis...they must be quite serious about having this jobsite at grade before the snow flies...

When our move-in at Mondrian was delayed, we were put up at the Arc hotel next door to this building site. Didn't need an alarm clock, the blasting for excavation woke us up every morning.....

I took some pics through the metal grating, then I noticed a dumpster parked next to the fence in a back alley, so I climb up on top. There was a security camera aimed right at me, but they probably didn't care.









They've got this sign up on O'Connor/Slater now as well.
