Definitely good news. There should be an animated image of the column rise.

This means that the rebar for the N. core is almost or complete, and they're expecting a concrete pour, and then the steel cage will be extended. They didn't mention anything about those trusses encased in the glass base. They're seen from almost every render.

I've always wanted to know this, what's the difference in the color of the rebar? The one they're using for the plaza is green while the core/column casing rebar is black(at tower 4 it's all one color).

I'm going to New York for my first time this coming Saturday. Where is the best view to see the entire site?

Also, I know its off topic, but if anybody can give me ideas of must see places (other than the heavy tourist areas) or restaurants to go to it would be much appreciated. Personal message me please so not to go anymore off topic, thanks!

For a tourist - a night at the Millennium Hilton. It's just like the webcam and then some. Failing that, probably the Winter Garden or the pedestrian walkways over West Street.

Also a view at 4 WTC, from one liberty plaza in front of the Brooks Brothers clothing store.

Green rebar is epoxy coated, it's used in areas where the concrete may often be wet, thus exposing the rebar to moisture which could cause it to rust. The core of the tower doesn't need epoxy coated rebar because it won't get wet once the building is completed.

In a west facing room in the Millenium Hotel. Otherwise, your only real option is to purchase stilts. The fences are very high.

Go to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx for the best food in the city. I cannot reccommend Zero Otto Nove enough. But that's a bit I a hike, so try Dim-Sum (dim-Sung?) in Chinatown.
