This should be the final raise for the Austonian crane I would assume?

This will be the last time the crane is jumped. 3 sections will raise the crane 60ft to a height of roughly 736'....50ft above the top of the crown.

Did you use your measurement of 676" feet to consider the final jump to 736" Shanny?

If you haven't, visit this site. It shows stuff from the Austonian including W's progress.

Just a good amount of pictures to have our filly update. Look at the Austonian, it towers over anything in Austin, the WAAF towers aren't enough wide enough, though taller.

And yea, don't forget the W, starting to notice in new places.

Nice shots Mopacs! South Austin has some of the better views of the skyline IMHO!

We were driving all over town today, and man, the building is just sticking up everywhere. I saw it in Southwest Austin from Texas 71 just east of Southwest Parkway. Then along 71/Ben White west of Mopac, pretty much all the way to the Y at Oakhill. And of course from Mopac just down the hill from Toys R Us. It's also sticking up nicely in places along Mopac all the way to 183. And it's really sticking up from South First & William Cannon in South Austin. I can't believe how tall it looks there. Some of the views along 71/Ben White west of Mopac are really good. Despite living fairly close, we rarely drive that stretch of road. It had been a while since I'd seen the view, and man, the skyline is looking healthy. I'm kicking myself for not taking the camera!

Went down to Barton Creek mall for the first time in many years to do some shopping. My girlfriend and I stopped in the parking lot with the good downtown view and we were both amazed!! Years ago we used to go sit there before they put that bench there and talk while watching the lights downtown. I wish the view was as good back then!!!

Thanks Mopacs....friggin amazing is right. The pics and braving this heat. I am really getting excited about the impact the W will have now. From all angles. Thanks again Mopacs!

The crown on Austonian will be a great crown to this skyline. Frost and Austonian together might look like royality at night...both with fantastic architecture and prominent, lighted crowns.

They're raising the crane today for The Austonian. They've already put in one piece. Sweet views from the east side. I really need to get over there and take some pics.

Also, has anyone checked out the view from South Lamar as it turns near Bluebonnet? The Austonian, Ashton and 100 Congress all three line up in that view and create a sort of stair shaped formation. When there's a silhouette of the buildings, it looks like one huge building with huge setbacks. Seriously, it's hardly recognizable as anything in Austin.

Here are some skyline shots taken from E Riverside and Ben White in SE Austin... Friday 7/24. This is one of the better vantage points for viewing the entire skyline, from south of the river up toward Concordia/St Davids. Even the mid-rises at 35 at 290E are visible.

You know that line in Animal House where Bluto reacts to the horse falling down dead after the gunshot? Um, yeah. Sweet view, good lord that's some bulk. There's your Waffle House view, AustinSkyscrapers!

Took some pics of the Austonian after they raised the crane, I had hoped to get them in progress but they must have gotten there early today and finished up. So here are some random pics of the Austionian, W and downtown.

So many new buildings

It was SO hot I wanted to jump in to the fountain.
