I think the underground station should have platform lights to warn people that the train is coming in...and they should stand back:

I can easily take out the secured zone even without stopping inside but passing through. 2-4 people board train with nicely packed backpacks with nice dense explosives, then set them off inside the secured zone. Would do some very very nice damage and kill a few thousand making 9/11 look like nothing.

yea, in my opinion the security zones should be larger...not to mention that there's no security zone buffer for the Live Sites. It'll be a road open to the public, then a public sidewalk, then a security fence, and then 10,000 people inside the Live Site. Centennial Park bombing, anyone?

The security zones are designed to keep protesters and homeless people out. They will do nothing to stop suicidal types...

If you are that desperate to see some of the olympic events just wait until 15 minutes befor the event. I would bet you will be able to pick up tickets for 1/4 of a face value (well maybe except hockey and ice skating).

I only want to see the Opening/Closing ceremonies from the lower level up close as I am legally blind. Nothing else interests me.

Do you have to have a ticket to enter the secured zone? I would like to do some video/photos inside there as part of my documentary about the Olympics in Vancouver (not Anti Olympics).

^ VANOC is opening a website soon for ticket holders to put their tickets back into the system for wannabe-spectators to buy. You could try you luck there.

There's also a phase III ticket phase coming up this fall, i heard there will be 50,000 tickets.

Had I not been chosen as a Ceremonies volunteer, I would still be going after the Opening Ceremony tickets.

If you can't get the opening/closing, and still want to get into the BC Place/GM Place security compound, you could try your luck with the victory ceremonies.

They've dug a small trench the next block east from the station, if that's what you mean. Looks like utilities work to me; I doubt it's the start of construction on Main St. Station

^ thank you so much! Great to see the new escalator. Looks like it would be one of those glass ones where you can see the inside parts moving

Looks like they significantly redid the design. There was only supposed to be a stairway and elevator on the south side wasn't there?

Remember this sign? Looks like TransLink was paying attention to our forums. I did an earlier design of the sign and it does look quite similar:

It doesn't have the Blue Expo Line train logo, it's only "Expo Line Transfer," and it also has a stair icon above the words Expo Line.
