Now, the Austonian appears and is now taller than the spire of 360. 570 ft and 8 inches appears to be today!

Thanks for listening to the AustinSkyscrapersBuildingRadio.

Most of these are from this hot hot morning (and a few from during the week). This is now the tallest building in Austin:

I am glad to see the Austonian on the 51st floor. A record.

Check out these photos:

Future projections for growth here are still pretty substantial though. Anyways, this is from the Lamar Street pedestrian bridge, looking East towards downtown. The sun wasn't up yet so there was this fun blue haze over everything.

Check out rhoby13's aerials of the city. They're pretty cool.

Yesterday or the day before the Austonian reached floor 52 after what seemed like a really long time because of "hype".

It is truly awesome. When it is at sunset, you can see that coral green in the Austonian, it is amazing to see the Austonian change color, from black to dark blue, from blue to light blue, from light blue to reflectiveness, from reflectiveness to dark blue, from dark blue to coral green, from coral green to black.

The setback is on floor 40, currently working on floor 53. Three more to go plus the crown.

Thanks! It was taken from the edge of an office parking lot just east of the I-35 feeder road (near Woodland Drive).

Thanks Mopacs for the pics

I live in H-town so I only have the opportunity to travel to Austin 2 or 3 times a year. The skyscraper boom in Austin is very similar to Houston's boom in the 1980's. I believe Austin will challenge Houston's skyline in ten years, so Houston needs to start building now or get passed up. None of our current tower construction is over 700 feet, but there is a proposed 89 story tower for the Galleria area. The Austonian is looking good and I am glad Austin is getting a taller skyline.
