I've seen Cold post a good overlay & clearance map... but hopefully it wont be applicable in about 3 hours!

This is a PDF file of an ECCA report from June 2008 - scroll all the way down to Page 22 under Attachment 3 to see the APO map.

The next page (23) shows a good "cross section" diagram of the APO and buildings in downtown Edmonton all the way to the river valley. You can see how the heights of the buildings and skyscrapers relate to the height limit set by the APO.

Pages 26 and 29 show some interesting post-YXD land use concept maps, including LRT.

Interesting. I think it might look a little weird having big commercial offices against residential neighbourhoods like Prince Rupert. Think maybe the Office and Residential they're proposing should switch

/\ again... landuses shown there were as bare conceptual as they get. It won't look anything like that when done. Probably a little more like pg. 7 on the latest report.

/\ right, but they aren't proposing anything with that document. They were looking at financial viabilities of different landuses... It's not even a concept. Just a general idea of what land uses would return to city coffers in terms of profit.

Also, here is the info on Raintree with a couple more views of different sides. (The north side looks pretty decent.... looks like BKA isn't designing a 3-sided tower here...)

^^What's with the weird loopy roads? Make 118 Ave straight through not some weird loops.

oni, that's the Raintree not the Pearl. Looks like a decent building but I'm not sure about the podium.

There are no loopy roads on either of the 3 concepts. The 'curvy' lines are meant to illustrate the approximate locations of various residential land use densities. And 118 Ave connects through the site in a straight line.

Awkward east elevation, but they are considering the building to the east of it. Not a fan of this side of the building.... and what is with the awkward skinny rectangular punchout windows?

I think he's talking about 118th... but anyways... back to what I said... not even a design concept... just land use pontential, etc.
