Translink didn't design the Canada Line signage, it was InTransitBC (SNC-Lavalin).

Translink will be operating the Canada Line, so it is part of Translink. Translink should be responsible for all the signage and there should be continuity.

^ actually, no. InTransitBC/SNC-Lavalin is operating the Canada Line. It's part of the contract. SNC-Lavalin gets to design, build, and operate the line for the next 35 years.

Now that the construction phase is over, InTransitBC is now becoming ProTransBC. It is the operator of the Canada Line.

Haha that map is so disproportional it's not funny. It's kinda weird they would show the 84... it's way faster than the 99 but not so frequent...

It is so disproportional. I don't find it necessary to display all the stops of the buses either. I also find it weird they didn't display the express buses to WhiteRock (supposed RapidBus).

yes, this is a good example of what is lacking south of fraser. when are the rapid buses there supposed to come into play?

The Transit Connections map is the first easy-to-understand regional transit map I've ever seen Translink produce. Only major lines shown. Fast and easy to figure out. Perfect. Make more like this. If people want more info, they can consult a more detailed map. Who cares if areas of the map aren't exactly to scale. Transit user's aren't orienteering or piloting an airplane, they're figuring out how a system works. If it's clear to see the system as a schematic diagram, with some basic water boundaries and park for reference, perfect. The not-at-all-to-scale London Underground Map is regarded as one of the most innovative cartographic improvements of all time, for good reason.

Overall Impressions:
I love the openness... it's great that they were able to continue that feeling from the elevated stations (Lansdowne) to the underground stations now.

The TransLink map just killed me. Hate it. See post below.

The new TVMs look great and actually look more usable than before, like I said, with the better controls.

It isn't easy when you see that all the WCE stations are listed... (that's not the problem)... but then you see "Mission City Station" right above the words Maple Ridge. Hmmm... something's obviously wrong. Worst map ever. They should only do water ways, no landforms, no city names, that's it.
