Really? I think it's a bit boxy and drab looking But that could be the rendering.

I think it looks great! Especially given the proximity to Mac's new Innovation district. Intensification between Dundurn and Mac is key.

This project has been approved so it isn't really under "planning". Just to let you know.

Across the street will be the new Urgent Care Centre, it'll undergo renovation.

I certainly hope not.

Well, I did say "good", and not "Fabulous!" It's fairly workmanlike, but there's nothing wrong with that. Every city needs a good stable of 'background' buildings. This is an immense improvement to the usual stucco garbage that passes for background buildings in this town, and a big improvement to that stretch of Main.

very cool Scandinavian treatment. simple discipline of Bauhaus design with a unique treatment of composite panels. Composite panels are also graffiti resistant. I;d like to see this at nite, lit up. I wish it was 15 floors.

Very true.

But that said, there's a need for a bit of Fabulousness! in Hamilton

I honestly expected better from dp-ai. Their Farmers Market/Central library design was much better. Possibly its because this isn't really as much of an urban project? Not really a very nice streetscape to work with and they have to deal with that slope as well.

You have to consider budget as well, which we know nothing of. This may have been the best they could do given the project's requirements and budget.

Well, it's not like they commissioned Zaha Hadid or anything (one can dream...) but I do agree it is better-than-average

If it was a bit taller it could be mistaken for the Borg collective from Star Trek. The Borg are a race of cybernetic drones without individual identities

ouch..... funny ... but harsh.

actually propose that idea (borg ship) to over-rated-Gehry. The outside of AGO sucks, seriously. inside is okay, best part are the stairs, people actually take them. instead of going up one floor in an elevator. People do that in my office bldg. too funny.
