Wonder who the first person to stand on the first 40th floor in Austin was? Some lucky 360 construction worker, sometime in November 2007.

Most definitely we celebrate as AustinSkyscrapers stated. I dont mind if it is not 100% completed, as long as there is something telling me 50 stories is in the making, I am satisfied and is enough for me to cheer about.

Thanks! Glad you like the pics. There was a 3rd set that I never got around to posting (aerial shots from outside Downtown and UT/West Campus). This is perhaps my motivation to get that together.

and the W hasn't even started to poke it's head up. It's going to tie 360 into the downtown cluster nicely.

Like Kevin said, just do it! The views I enjoy include those from the air. And remember, the sky's the limit! Also, tell us the date of them.

how about the life after people epesode last night on the history channel. it showed sanantonio. The Rivewalk flooded and the buildings downtown had there foundations compromised by the repeating flooding. It showed Tower Life the old one fall over on its side after only 50 years.

Thank you...you're too kind, too kind! I'll post a few teasers tonight or tomorrow night. Most are uploaded but I'd like to organize them so as to provide a decent narrative. All photos were taken within 1-2 hours of each other (including the downtown/UT shots)... on December 7th, 2008. Man I would love to do it again with the Austonian upwards of 50 stories (was somewhere in the 20's at the time).

I have a ton of photos from the uptown/Seton/triangle areas, along with the Arboretum, Lake Travis, Bee Cave and the westside (it was part of an afternoon flight to Fredricksburg).

Next week I'm headed to Miami and a cruise to the Bahamas. I think you know where my photographic priorities are going to be

Miami will be fun... I was there less than 5 years ago, and marveled at the insane condo/high rise construction at the time. Well that trend intesified further over the last 5 years. Can't wait (even though the boom is winding down).

They finally got smart too, and trimmed one of these trees. The last time I was there it was right in the middle of this view.

Right after I got finished with these and left, I had a blowout on my bicycle. It sounded like a shotgun blast. lol

Love the picture looking south at the Capitol. Also, la vista on la vaca (0ld name) is starting to stand out. I'm afraid that the Austonian will look almost too tall when compared to everything else, I guess we'll just need some other 600-700 footers to balance it out, come on Green and 21C.

Nice photos Kevin! They're real good. And anyways, I figured you're close to my neighborhood, that is if you know any services around your area called Genie Car Wash cause' that's where I get the car washes from.

I also went to Half Price Books near 290 and I could see the Austonian really clearly.
