A new rendering of the tower is on their website here. They've changed it up again and I think this is the best version to date.

Fares Inc.

Looks a lot better to me.

I wonder if they possibly bumped the height up ... that would be sweet

Still looks to be 33 floors. But I do like that tower!

Looks great! Will be a great icon sitting in the middle of the harbour. I really like the look of the podium and the way it is projecting out over the harbour. I really hope that will be accessible space for the public.

I find two things odd however. First off, why have they not changed anything or updated the kings wharf site itself? And also why do they keep showing this tower. When I was talking to the people involved I was told this tower will not be the first to go up and instead 4 ten story towers will go up first.

Cause I'm guessing they want to get people like us excited about it and get out to show support for it before heritage nimby's get their grubby hands on it and start shooting it down.

Notice how that shows that that neat point going up appears to be enclosed inside, meaning it's probably a podium for the tall piece, with a living roof... freakin' sweet.

It is an absolutely astounding building I must say, it will be a really nice icon for DARTMOUTH ... just think, coming in on a cruise ship, that'll be the thing you see straight ahead, gleaming all sparkley, clean, white and nice and go "boy, they know whats up over there... let's go!" haha

Well, they'll probably see the refinery first, but maybe this would make up for it.

...Assuming it gets built, of course... I won't believe it until the digging starts.

Simple solution... we need to build a massive mirrored glass facade in front of the refinery to make it look better lmao

UHH but that would interfere with the historic nature of the refinery. and you must consider viewplanes.

Thank you. Dartmouth is beautiful. All you see when you look over at the heart of Dartmouth is a city covered in trees. It's great.

The new tower design is very nice. I would expect them to show off those plans because they look more impressive than ten storey buildings.

I also have to say, sadly, that I'm in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp (about half a dozen of these have been proposed for the city, and zero have been built), but it would be nice.

One thing I really have to give props to Fares for is their determination on this project. Over the years they've meet anybody possible affected, changed their plans hundreds of times and while "Someone123" might be right about none of these proposals ever going through this one probably considered the community, policies and everything else the most and because of that I believe it will go through and work well with the area.

Well.. it's not just a matter of being approved. United Gulf was approved, for example, and has not yet been built. We'll see I guess.

I am joining you there. Love the design, but will wait 1) till it gets approved, and 2) if it gets built.

I think it will still make it.

One key difference between this and UG is this is a "community" with many different uses, buildings, incomes, ect and you get some sweet views of Halifax.

Also this one hasn't been beaten into the ground by the HT ... yet ...
