This is such an incredibly well done building for its time. It still looks fantastic. Amazing when you think it is now nearly 20 years old.

Well as a Torontoian I'll take issue with the last part of your comment. --

You think Royal Bank Plaza could have been built anywhere....then why wasn't it??...it was probably one fo the first truely unique glass curtain wall skyscrapers ever built on planet earth...(That's right...1978!!)

FCP - boring, no. huge yes!!. - It can probably swallow any other skyscraper in Canada 3 times over it's so massive. Pictures probably just don't do justice to how big this thing is....

Commerce Court West - see el capitain's post above mine... (classic art deco skyscraper)

ok and don't forget...that when these bad boys were built... there were just 3 or 4 (if you include detroit) cities in the world that built seriously tall skyscrapers...... and Toronto was one of them..

BTW: none of the above buildings is my favorite skyscraper in Canada....

Agreed. TD Centre is just so classy and unpretentious. Without a doubt the epitome of Modern architecture.

I was shocked when I found out how old 1250 René-Lévesque was. It almost looks like it could have been built yesterday. Way ahead of its time.

In Calgary we don't have anything too amazing, but I think the Nexen tower and the Bow would have to be my 2 favs. Depending on how it might turn out the new Grand by LAcaille might be up there too.

I was going to mention it but they're under 100m, and I don't know if people would consider them skyscrapers. They're barely highrises.

Equally fantastic buildings though.

I love PCC & Bankers Hall in Calgary, simple yet classic.

FCC in Toronto & Manulife in Edmonton are also high on my list.

I waiting for the finished product, but I think I'll really like the Nuera condo in Calgary when finished!!
