Good news, although i can see the office buildings begin changed to apartments or condo's as you need greater then 70% preleasing to secure financing these days.

Awesome something good to look at across the harbour. The construction of the 10story buildings first may also profive them with some financial backing and the 30 story tower could get started pretty soon after. I can't wait to see some cranes there.

Salter street block is going to be awesome though, not just in looks, but it's impact on both the waterfront and Halifax in general. And much like the eventual Queen's Landing proposal, if it ever happens, all residential will be 100% rental. In fact every development other than Bishop's Landing, on the Halifax portion of the harbor will be exclusively rental, due to a WDCL policy

Lots of work on site today. I believe they are putting in some new electrical boxes for the site. As well as continued infilling. They have also been working the last week on the approach for the new bridge over the canal.

Happy to report there has been a steady stream of dumptrucks coming on site this week. They have been working on infilling the front of the site closest to Alderney Gate Park. I'll try and get some pics when the weather improves.

I wonder what they have planned for roads in and out. There was the issue that they need another exit other than going over the train tracks. JET

The plan as I last heard it was to create some sort of bridge over the tracks somewhere between the current access and the tiny little amphitheatre along the walk into Alderney Gate park. They had said it would be very twisty and bendy that would rival the twists and turns of Lombard street in San Fransisco. They reason for the twists would be to minimize its visual impact as much as possible.

I would assume it would be one of the first things constructed as I do not believe under regulation anyone is allowed to have residence on the site until the second entrance is created.

That statement and the regulation is true. The site has to be fully accessible before there can be anybody living there.

Also, lol Lombard St. go to youtube and watch the guys racing down that street on big wheels/scooters/skateboards. Really quite amusing haha.

One could argue that they have already started. With all the fill coming on site. I have some pics I've taken over the past week. Just haven't had the chance to upload them yet. And when I walked by yesterday half of the siding on one of the old buildings had been ripped off. That one will probably be a pile of rubble in a week or two.
