What we all have to be aware of, it that the zoning is RMU, residential mixed use. These areas already allow things such as hair and nail salons, restaurants, dry cleaners, offices, etc. a bar could simply be another neighborhood retail establishment. As the article points out there are two particular bars that are requesting the change. These bars already exist in these RMU zones and simply want to be able to serve liquor as opposed to just beer.
Making this change really can provide some vibrancy to these neighborhoods. It's promotes pedestrian traffic later into the evening which can promote a since of vibrancy.
I'm all for it in the RMU's!
