I think the key to remember is that the skytrain line in this region would be a *backbone* which feeds to/from other modes of transport. It should NOT be seen as the only mode of transport along this corridor. Consequently, we don't want too many stops, otherwise it loses one of it's main advantages - speed to transport large numbers of passengers.
The deceleration, load and acceleration times start to become a substantial proportion of journey time if you have too many stops. So you want to think along the same lines as the 99 B Line - major stops only, with intra-destinations served by other transport modes (eg., 9 bus).
^ That's why I was saying there are way too many stations......
By the way, we should state clear that we are not opposed to using LRTs in our region's transportation network. We can have it on King George or Arbutus. We just don't want it to happen on the Broadway corridor.

Just a few thoughts, I think Kingsway Station should be renamed to Main Street-Kingsway so the people reading this map don't get confused about where it is.

If there are two stations at UBC, where would they go?
If the final station is at Main Mall and University Boulevard (which is a good idea), then would it make more sense to place the second station at Wesbrook or Allison (not that it's a huge difference)?
I think that with the plans for an underground bus loop at East Mall and University Boulevard, UBC only needs a single station. If people are too lazy to walk 3 blocks from Main Mall to the University Village, then they can take a bus there.

Can i suggest Mount Pleasant? I am really sick of station names by street names... LOL This might be good for a greater sense of community?
And looks like our existing "Broadway Station" needs a name change when this line gets built to avoid confusion!
Someone please phone into this show, tell them about the cherry picking, give them the portland LRT stats vs. skytrain, tell them about all the new ALRT systems currently being build around the world, the short blocks along Broadway that would reduce train and station lengths, and even show how long it has taken to construct the Granville St redesign, which does not even include LRT tracks!, 1 month per block my ass. etc...
^ The big thing that I noticed there is the extensive grade separation. We could use that to our advantage in the event that an LRT supporter comments on Calgary adding to its LRT network.

^ Now THAT is the knock-out punch that could swing NIMBYs over from liking LRT to hating LRT. NIMBYs are notoriously keen for peace and quiet. Think of all of the residential on Broadway in between Commercial and UBC.
This point needs to go FRONT-CENTRE on the Facebook page - LRT is noisier!
