HA HA HA!!!! I think all the Mansion needs is to add a lil something to the crown like the Atlantic is all. Now the restaurant is another story.... has anyone ever seen this rendering of Streets Of Buckhead before......

That could be an Islamo-terrorist building. The gold thing on top looks sort of like a keffiyeh and the three windows below the mouth could be a goatee. Why isn't the mainstream media covering this?

Notify FOX News [sic].
I'm sure they will be all over it....and it will somehow be tied back to Obama.

Also, that rail network looks awesome, although I have to question the dearth of rail between the east coast and the Mississippi. The line running down from Chicago that terminates at Kentucky could extend through to Nashville and then down to Atlanta.

Either way, talk about reasserting the importance of cities!

I'd assume if we don't go completely broke first, this would be a little like the start of the interstate system where you get some basic, high use routes in place and hope to see it expand, eventually linking all of them together plus more links to places that aren't necessarily the largest cities.

Yes unfortunately I have. The two buildings closest to Peachtree have been cancelled...

Couple of Building Permits Posted

1) Permit for new Princeton Review Office - 6th Street - Between Halo and Pint & Plate

2) Permit for new Aurum Restaurant and Bar - 8th Street - Previously Interior Dimensions (I think?) furniture store space beside Silk

to filling up empty space.

Oh YEA, kind of like the way CNN, NBC, MSNBC, & everyone else in the world tied everything BAD to George Bush for 8+ years.

Pics of Dogwood Festival, Buckhead, etc. over the weekend.

Love how imposting 12th & MT is on this side of midtown skyline. Really, they should put this view (from high up) on postcards & calendars!

SPRINGTIME'S pretty (minus alergies)

Kinda cool how GOLD Mansion can appear.

Despite the bland surface & facade material, i love Mansion/Craft's landscaping & overall look.

Apologies for the blurry night shots.

SO SEXY! Anyone eaten at Market yet???

Saw a little blurb about the 05 Buckhead. Looks like the apartment style highrise may work for Coro.

Market

The restaurant was really good, it also had more of a modern chic feel than the hotel. Other than the long wait, though I did have reservation, it was awesome.

Wow, smart and affective advertising for the city:

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/stories/2009/04/20/daily45.html

“The $52 million in visitor expenditures reported by just this 1.5 percent of all Web site visitors represents a return on investment of 43-to-1,” said Andrew Wilson, senior vice president and general manager of Atlanta.net. “The report is a clear indication of the success of ACVB’s Web site and marketing programs and its influence on its visitors to spend dollars in Atlanta.”

Marta succeeding despite impediments put in place by the statehouse?

It looks ridiculous!!! It used to be much better looking before they painted all those colors on it a few years ago.

I love it! This is a great end-around of the piss-poor Georgia house to keep Marta going and make good use of their capital funds.

HAHA, lol

Actually i think it's fun looking, sorta Vegasy - i think we need more playfull architecture, more for Midtown though i guess.

I thought they built it like that, not painted it?

^^ I feel like there is a difference between playful and offensive... using vivid colors for the sake of using vivid colors isn't usually considered playful... unless you are Lichtenstein. ;-) That poor building is just awkward.

I remember watching them paint it (it had already been built for a while). I am all for playful, but I would love to know who picked that color palette and thought, "yeah, that looks spectacular."
