^Yeah it looks like they're still continuing with the retail component of the project. I was guessing that it might be put on hold for obvious reasons but apparently not.

Awesome that they're continuing with the retail component. I'm excited to be moving into Azure 1 in May.

The top half of D'Corize is so depressingly dated for a new tower. I was hoping it would be better than the renders but it actually seems worse.

^ Thanks for the correction. I saw the site being cleared for Luxe, though I didn't know which project it was for.

It's been under construction for quite some time now. I get the sense they're moving slowly because they've had absolutely NO leasing activity on the office space and now Appia is facing a developer's worst nightmare - completing on an empty building.

Thanks for all the updates SFU.

Nice. The office building looks to be a decent size. Don't see rebar at the top so it may have topped out.

No, I believe it still has 1 maybe 2 floors to go, plus a mechanical penthouse. If you look closely you can see rebar in contrast with the window of the condo behind it... you really have to look closely though.

As i said before, it seems that Burnaby has the two best office tower projects u/c in Metro Van at the current.

Even with the recession, the office vacancy rate is still very low.
I'm sure office space in west Burnaby, practically across the street from Vancouver and a skytrain station, is going to have occupants, even if they are paying a lower lease rate than last year.
I would find it hard to believe it would be finished in 6 months and would sit there empty, and Metrotower III too.
Like it was said, they are practically the only office buildings under construction adjacent to skytrain stations.
The only reason the tower adjacent to Production Way station is still
empty is that it's not finished, but I'm sure in a few months, if you're standing on the train platform, you'll see it full of people.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but did anybody know that New Westminster has its own electrical utility? Does anybody know why? It seems pretty redundant from a business perspective.
