I think that's a little ridiculous. It's just an empty room.

Thanks for posting Jim's pictures. I am really curious to see how the underground stations are going to turn out, like everyone else, I suppose.

Gee, who needs Starbucks when you can have bubble tea

The only successful neighbourhood in Richmond is Steveston. The city's bureaucrats haven't found a way to screw that up yet. Its a shame the old Sockeye Special interurban right-of-way isn't being used to connect Brighouse and the Canada Line with Steveston

Richmond's planning department seems big on creating neighbourhoods under flightpaths: sheer brilliance.

The line won't go ahead because it just makes too much sense.

I ran an elevated rail line down that path in a simulated Greater Vancouver (elevated rail because the ground level rail was mostly a commuter service that didn't quite have the flexibility I needed) down Granville then Railway to Steveston... it was very successful.

The cherry tree looks good next to the gray granite - not sure if the tree is staying though, as the other trees/planters were removed.

"The City of Vancouver has approved an expansion of Pacific Centre, including retail premises that will extend to the street on both sides of West Georgia Street, and a link connecting the shopping centre to the new Vancouver City Centre rapid transit station currently under construction on Granville Street. The link is scheduled to open in the summer of 2009 in conjunction with the opening of the Canada Line."

Does anyone know when the Pacific Centre expansion will commence?

The 701 West Goegria side was at UDP in March and May 2008 - but was never followed through on - I don't this it was approved by UDP and did not go to DPB.

Rejected here:

Non-Voting workshop here:

The Sears Plaza side hasn't even been to UDP yet.

I lost this years ago when my PC crashed. =( Sorry. I've been too lazy to redo it, I don't have the 4 hours a day to play Simcity anymore like I used to. Stupid responsibilities. lol. You can download a Vancouver template off one of the Simcity 4 fansites and build your own simulation of the city.

It's too bad that I won't be able to join you guys to take the Skytrain C-Line on opening day. I just got accepted into Grad School in Minnesota. So I'll be there before C-Line's opening day. And also too bad that I won't be part of the fun during the 2010 Olympics (ALSO have to give up volunteering duties for it).

But please take as much photos as possible on opening day. I'll be checking them.
