So Montauk sofas will be moving to Gastown in the summer at the corner of Abbott and Water streets solidifying the areas already strong home design quarter.
it was a franchise store - the woman who opened seemd to be a bored housewife who wanted a hobby and a store
plus it wasn't really a well known label and and more of a niche than mainstream I was surprised that it opened here - it could have survived as a in store boutique perhaps
i just looked at that website on the board where carls jr is suppossed to be... and it has no mention of Carls Jr but instead shows A&W! but the sign shows Carls Jr
The Gap at Pacific Centre has opened up in the new section (where the luggage store used to be) and the old (new) store is now behind hoardings - presuambly to tear down the wall to link up the two halves?

That's kinda sad about Pinkys, I only went there the once but it was pretty good. I noticed Fuel in Gastown went bankrupt as well, that one I'm not surprised about though, the food was good but it was always dead.

I seem to recall some discussion here somewhere at some point about the fact that Nando's Chicken might be opening a location right downtown - either the 1022 Onni site or the Alto site (possibly? - I can't recall). I looked through the retail threads and downtown updates but can't find any references to it now.
Is anyone aware of the possibility of Nando's opening a downtown peninsula location?
