Richmond have blue signs... I guess that's to match the blue-green train and logo design... I wonder if the YVR branch will have green signs...

There are other aspects... -___-" If you are to criticize, at least attempt to read what giallo said.

thanks all for the photo

more impressed about the (Landsdowne) station than the train. Canada line train does not look like it can hold 400 people (a myth?)

I got a kick out of the "way out" signs - that is so British. Not sure why they say "way out" when "exit" is standard in Canada - but I like "way out"

A few things.

1. yes, I like the design - really nice

2 - the way-finding still —. Come on - let's get a decent way-finding system in place and then use it consistently throughout the system. What I don't like about it is the small lettering, the non-standard symbols and the fact it is all in English in a city that is expecting many tourist who don't speak English. Not saying the words need to be there, but international symbols would work much better.

3 - station looks a lot bigger than expected and the trains look great (well, except the colour). I'm surprised they're unpainted. London Underground used to have un-painted trains, until the scrouge of graffiti arrived in the London, now all the trains are painted. We'll see what happens here.

4 Why is the elevator behind screened panels - wouldn't glass be a lot safer. somebody missed the boat here.

^ it's a myth indeed. 400 passengers is the advertised crush load, while the normal capacity is 334 passengers. The latter is far more realistic, especially given the seating arrangement and Vancouverite attitudes towards packing a vehicle.

Theoretical Capacity. There is no way, unless we are in Japan, that the Canada Line trains would be able to hold 400 people.

Edit: Darn it. I'm a few minutes slow.

The sticker is hideous.

Font far too small, the sign is massive but what's the point of that if the text is small.

Does the DWA sign really need to be that big?

Did anyone think to ask what the blue "Way Out" stick was all about?

I don't think it was dark enough outside to notice the significant role the lighting played in the station.

Aberdeen Station

Thanks for all the photos of the open house. I attended a little later in the day and at this point all of mine are duplicates. I did snap a shot of Aberdeen Station on my way to the open house.

I like Richmond because it has a very modern feeling to it. It also seems to have the most video billboards and fun signage of any city in Vancouver. I just feel it has a great vibe. Can't wait for the night market!
I agree. I love Richmond. I think it's a place where new families can go and belong, and the community's pretty close together. I see it as a destination for people to live, play, and sort of work I personally think that Richmond's still got a long, long ways to go, in terms of becoming denser, but while it's still in the process of doing that, I love the city and all that it has to offer I think it still has a lot to offer to people locally, and also internationally.

btw, thanks to everyone for the wonderful pictures. but I have a question with regards to Lansdowne station. The glass that is towards No. 3 - is it going to go all the way to the top? or are they just going to leave it as is?
