Too much glass, if you ask me. It's starting to look a little bit like Vancouver (minus most of the things that make Vancouver a great city).

Slightly agreed.
I want to see some of the streetscapes those buildings have to offer.

I really think with all the development on Peachtree in Buckhead makes Buckhead the most attractive/efficient MARTA station, also in terms of station layout.

Really? How so? I mean, sure, there has been a lot of development near the station, but most of it is not within convenient walking distance (most people will walk 1/4 to 1/2-mile to access transit). I can't imagine people going out of their way to use that station, especially the types of people who are working in those new office buildings or living at Sovereign, the Mansion, or Terminus.

I'm not sure I can respond to the claims about efficiency or station layout, although to me it just seems like almost every other MARTA station. What makes this one particularly effective?

I guess because he means that the station has two access points on both sides of Peachtree so you don't have to cross the road to get to it. So you can get people to the platforms more efficiently i guess. Yeah that stretch of Buckhead is shaping up to be a nice area but I do agree about the Vancouver comment.

I think Five Points and Peachtree Center are the best stations as far as things being in walking distance. Midtown station is close to my condo at Plaza Midtown, but its not too much else that I can see people just using the Marta to come to visit. But, I do think that Buckhead station is next to 5 Points and Peachtree Center Station as far as things to walk to and from.

Ha, I live in the Plaza too. I take marta to work everyday ... even with the 8 minute walk from the Peachtree Center station to my office, its still faster than getting in my car, driving down the parking deck, driving downtown, and driving back up another parking deck.

I love being so close to the midtown station. It's definitely within walking distance of GT's Alexander Colliseum, I see lots of people pour onto marta after basketball games. Saying that you don't see much else that people would take marta to the Midtown station for is basically saying you don't think there's anything in midtown anyone would want to see... which I completely disagree with.

well all this talk about marta efficiency wont make any difference when they cut one or two days of service (and from the ceo's mouth it will be sat and sun) due to the state governments no vote on a bill that would allow them to access the $50 million in capital funds to move into operations to meet a apprx $25 million shortfall.

I was talking about things on a daily basis. Just like people pour into Buckhead Station when there is an event at Lenox. Also, I by no means was saying that people do not use Midtown Station. But, in my experience, it seems as if there are plenty of people that use the Buckhead Station. I just can't see a reason for someone just to take Marta to Midtown train Station to come to Steele or The Athlete's Foot Store, which by the way is closing. On another note, the retail here at Plaza Midtown is having a rough time.

I think a lot of people take the train to Lenox to hang out at the mall and environs. That's pretty convenient.

St. Regis hotel banking on luxury

In addition to its world-renowned butler service, the West Paces Ferry Road hotel, whose grand opening is April 14, features fireplaces in public areas, Turkish limestone and Venetian plaster in the Paces 88 restaurant and a pool piazza with the feel of Italy. ...

Which building? Hopefully not the Medical Arts????

Not trying to complain at the administrators, but could you check what posts you're moving before you move them, because the one i'm about to repost clearly had nothing to do with MARTA and was entirely based on construction.

Anyway, this is the building that was demolished

Just the one thats circled.

Wooohooo!!! Everyday I walked past that building and there would be anywhere from 5 to 20 homeless people inside it.

*crossing my fingers*
maybe they demolished the smaller building to make room for the demo of the larger medical arts building!
